Good morning / afternoon!
I haven't posted here before but I always love checking out this thread for great meal ideas. I let my tracking slip a little bit and realized I was starting to fall into old habits again so I decided that this morning was a new day and I would track and plan for all food today and from now on!
QOTD: I have actually been on TV once before, I did background work on something called backyard inventors. It was fun but I was pretty nervous / self conscious, this was long before surgery. My husband is the actor of the family he's been doing it for 30+ years, although our 3 kids seem to have inherited the dramatic gene, they get a kick out of seeing Daddy pop up on the TV screen.
Time since surgery: 2 months + 9 days
B: Premier protein shake + iced coffee with fat free milk
S: Plain Skyr 1/2 cup
L: HB egg + cheese stick
S: 1/2 Premier Protein bar
D: Egg salad w/ low fat mayo wrapped in roasted seaweed
S: 1/2 Premier Protein bar
Welcome! and great pic. Nice menu too...

Hi menu people,
Sorry I was Mia yesterday, I woke up with a cold and dozed off and on all day. I'm feeling a little better today.
QOTD no I never been in the newspaper or TV that I remember.
B: egg whites ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L: cottage cheese, red pepper, and baby carrots
D: meatballs and spinach
S: Greek yogurt, Apple and ice cream I know but it works into my calories.
Hi everyone. Is it Friday? It is Friday. YES!!! I am so sorry to hear you are not sleeping. There is nothing worse. When I was having the same issue, Kelly was sweet enough to send me some melatonin patches from PatchMD. I've taken melatonin orally before and was not all that impressed, but the patches seem to work much better. They have really helped me.
QOTD: I've been on TV a couple of times when I was younger. Once on a local kids cartoon show, and once in college when I was interviewed by the local news station about a sports team. I have been in the paper tons. Mostly because I have a degree in journalism and worked for a newspaper for a time, so my byline was in the paper. In my current job, I often have to speak with the press when things go terribly wrong, so there's that.
Not much on my calendar this weekend, which makes me very, very happy. I will visit with my Dad, take another death march with friends, and then probably get together with friends for general frivolity on Saturday night. I also need to get the back patio put together. It is mid July and it is still in its winter state of dishabille. The summer is going to be over before I set it up if I don't get my act together!
Pictures below are of me in my casual Friday attire. I don't generally wear denim jeans to work, but I was having a "screw it" kind of morning. Are you sick of pictures of me yet? I'm sick of pictures of me. The other one is of the crispy garbanzo beans that I made last night. I sauteed them in a little olive oil until they were brown and crispy, and then sprinkled them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, lemon zest and a little Parmesan cheese. Delish!
Weight this morning: 143, UGH! Stupid water weight!
Time Since Surgery: 20 months (almost)
B: Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette
S: Crispy garbanzo beans, string cheese
L: Sriracha tuna
S: Deli roast beef
D: Rib Eye
Totals: Calories 648, Carbs 19, Protein 65
My calories and protein are low, so I need to make some adjustments in this menu. Maybe more rib eye?
Have a great day everyone!
