Good morning. The partial day at work went well yesterday although I was incredibly tired last night. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up around 1 am to take myself to bed. KQOTD- I was on the news last thanksgiving. The local station was covering the turkey trot and we were interviewed before the race. Probably because two of the girls running with us were wearing turkey hats.

So im totally burning out on protein shakes and trying to figure out ways to get in at least 75g while limiting my carbs. Can't figure out how until next week when I can add fish so I guess I'll power through 2 shakes a day. I've also been at the same weight for 2 days (and yes, I know that's not a "stall" and I know my dr said I wouldn't lose weight and that he doesn't want me to lose any more) but it's playing head games with me and I'm thinking of going back on full liquids until I lose what I wanted to lose. Ugh. I hate mind games.

My plan

B: protein shake

L: ricotta bake

D: refried beans, 2 tsp of enchilada sauce, sprinkle of cheese and 1 tbs of Greek yogurt

S: protein shake, light and fit or latte (both will fit but I can't get them both in). I may alter my menu and have cottage cheese and a latte for breakfast. Protein will be a bit lower but it will delay my shake burnout

Totals (as planned) cal.: 710; protein; 89g; fat: 14g; carbs 59g

Yep. I tried them before my revision and liked them and actually bought a few 4 packs. Now the thought of them turns what's left of my Frankenstein stomach. One problem with them is with a shake I make with powder, I can get my protein in in 8 oz of liquid. The Lift drinks are 20 oz for 20 grams. I'm not having an issue getting in fluid, so I'd rather drink water or propel, which I like, rather than a protein water. Good suggestion, though!

Don't over due it okay Stacy! You are fresh post op!!

What about protein pudding, protein Popsicle, chilli with unflavoured protein powder.  I hear on getting sick of shakes hang in there just a few more days.  Are they home made shakes or RTD? If home made can you add in flavours like Crystal light for a change up?

sorry about the mind games, that must be tough.  But think of your experience... band to sleeve to RNY, you need to write a book/blog!

hang in there I think you are doing awesome!!!

They're made with powder, not RTD.  I'll be fine.  I'm giving myself a one day break where I'm only drinking one shake.  It didn't make that much difference in my macros.  Swapping out a latte and cottage cheese for the shake makes the following difference:

With cottage cheese/latte breakfast

Cal. 690

Protein: 76g

Fat: 15g

Carbs: 64g (yes, I know that's high, but it will go down when I can add fish, etc.)

With shake and latte

Cal. 650

Protein: 83g

Fat: 14g

Carbs: 49g

I know the carb hit is big, but the difference in protein is pretty negligible.  I think I'll survive for a day!!

Definitely try sugar free pudding and add 1/2 scoop protein powder.  That was my go to snack for months.  Now I might just have that myself tonight.

You might try a container of plain greek yogurt and a half a scoop of protein powder. I love that!

Hi all

AV, I am with you.  I am so tired today...it's been a L O N G week.  Looking forward to the weekend. Also, I think the older you get the harder it is to process all the sadness and hurt going on around the world.

That being said I wanted to share a photo of my little Logan that is going to be 1 Tuesday.  There is nothing more innocent than the joy of discovering new foods.  He is working those 3 toofers   Happy Friday everyone and enjoy the weekend!
