3 Day Post Op and have numbness

Monday the 11th I had gastric bypass RNY I had had Lao Band in 2008 removed 2015. It was supposed to be at least 2 hour surgery turned into 4.30 hour surgery due to scar tissue lots of it. I'm feeling good sipping away water and Popsicles but the one thing that's bothering me is numbness in my right scalp and top of leg small numbness. I noticed when they did surgery they put something under my head after it was hurting is this common has anyone heard or gone through this.

Good News I started at highest 337 now I'm 303 

I had a RNY 2 weeks ago and have right thigh numbness. At first it was really severe neuropathic burning pain but over the last two weeks it has gotten better gradually though it's still a little numb. I asked my surgeon at my 2 week post op appointment about this and she confirmed my suspicion that it had to do with positioning + anesthesia. Positioning can compress a nerve that can take a while to heal but causes the numbness in the mean time. Also in the OR they often put something to pad your head it could have irritated a nerve as well. Make sure you keep up on your vitamins especially your B12 because B12 deficiency can cause numbness but it takes months for that to happen.

It should get better over time. The numbness in my leg is almost gone now. Hope this helped.
