No rain here. It's just hot. I don't have much planned today. I leave for Prince Edward Island early Saturday so I've got laundry and packing to do. I also need to buy food for my kids and husband while I'm gone. I never know what to buy them. In the past I've planned and made meals only to have them not eat them. Maybe I'll just leave them all pizza money, lol. 

Qotd: My husband can make me laugh like nobody else. He has such a funny sense of humor. I tell ya, it makes up for the things that drive me nuts. We often lay in bed at night, laughing our asses off. Love that man!

YAY for road trips Amy!!!  And I laughed when you said leave "pizza money" for your hubby and kids.  That's hilarious! Love that you have a hilarious hubby too!

Actually Daisy, this is not the great Canadian road trip. That's coming up in August (when I get to meet Kakesie). Saturday my mom and sisters and I are flying to PEI for a girls' getaway. I am flying through Toronto with a 45 minute layover, so I'll just have to wave to you this time!!

It's getting pretty humid here too. I have to go out at lunchtime today though, must do a couple of quick errands.

So I had my follow up with the Podiatrist yesterday if that's what you want to call it.  After waiting half an hour in the room, Dr. showed his face, looked at me and said, oh wait, you're not my next appointment.  Then came out, back in and asked what time my appointment was and was I late.  Off to a great start!  Then he said the woman in the next room was next, and she yelled out.  "No she is next".  OK, then.  Then he asks me if this is my first visit as I was removing my boot.  I told him no, this was a follow up and was supposed to have an Xray as well.  He said he was sorry about the mixup as he was so behind and hadn't read my chart.   Three strikes already!  So he stands about 2-3 feet away and tells me my foot is still swollen.  No kidding!  Never examines my foot at all! So he rushes out to fill out paperwork for Xray then, not 3 weeks ago when I was there!  Tells me, you have to go to checkout, then check back in for Xray.    Strike 4!  Even I know there are only 3 strikes in baseball!  So now I go to check out and she tells me she will make the Xray appointment, but there are no more for today!  You will have to come back tomorrow.   This is the fifth time I have taken time off of work for this foot in 4 weeks.  I don't have the time to keep taking time off.  I walked out.  I called BC/BS and got a list of practices taking new patients I am so done!  This morning I wrote a "lovely" cough, cough,  detailed letter explaining the whole process I have been through since June 14th and requesting reimbursement for my $75 copay as no examine happened.   Not going to be the nice, quiet, passive patient anymore!

QOTD:  I laugh all the time usually, not too much yesterday though.  I was even too angry last night to get to sleep!

I mumbled a few choice words on my way out, something that began with F, and wait until I get the Press Gainey survey. 

For some reason nothing ****** me off more than bad service from doctors. From waiting forever, to condescending attitudes, it makes me so mad!

Sorry you weren't able to get this dealt with.

Oh man, that would have stressed me out to no end!!  Good for you for finding another doctor!!

Sorry. A day like that is my worst nightmare.

Beth that seriously sucks!  I am so impressed that you said "no way" am I dealing with this office and doctor. We have to be advocates for ourselves and our time is just as important as theirs.  Waiting for hours it not acceptable to me and I have walked out of a few doctor's office to prove my point.  I then go onto "Rate my MD" and basically write about my experience.  I hope you are able to find a new doc soon and get your foot looked after.
