What is on your Wednesday Menu RNYers?
OK AV- come out come out where ever you are! Hopping on because I gotta go and I need this post!
QOTD: It's summer, what was your favorite childhood game? I remember playing Red Light Green Light -One-Two_three... hahaha. When my son and I went to Africa, He tried to play teach that to the African kids, but they didn't get it, So in the part where your un...they didn't stop and he got chased by like 70 little kids...LOL.
Managed through my crazy day...On top of everything else painted 8 wine glasses and six footed ice tea glasses. 4 were for a charity raffle and the rest are thank You gifts for mt surgeon and his staff as I am driving to DC today for an appointment tomorrow. VBS first. But in all my exhaustion yesterday with three hours sleep, I went to make a reservation for a hotel, made it for last night instead of tonight... had to call back and forth with hilton for like an hour, because late cancellations without a fee have to be done directly by the hotel and they wouldn't pick up... so finally the 800 number got a hold of them, but I have still have to straighten it out today when I get there as there was no manager on to reverse the charges... Oy.

You are a busy lady! Today I am back at work and overwhelmed with the sheer volume of crap I have to do. Most days I don't feel that way, but today I'm drowning lol. This afternoon I think I may take my kids to the county 4-H fair if it's not raining. I know they would like to go. DH is settling in okay so far with his nightshift gig. He understands he really needs to make this work, so even though he hates nights he's making a good solid effort.
I put on a pair of white capri pants this morning in a size 20 that I thought I could get away with wearing one last time. It didn't take long to figure out that this wasn't going to work. They kept falling down lol. I had to stop at Meijer and get some different pants, bought 3 pairs so I will have like 5 prs of dress pants in my current size that work. I don't want to buy a lot of clothes at each size, but need enough to get through the workweek anyway.
QOTD: I think Red Rover. We played it every year at VBS and we loved clothes lining each other haha.

I had a horrible night last night. Since I have been home, I pulled out my laptop and had it sitting on the coffee table in my family room all day. I was leaning over and typing, playng with it yesterday. At 1:30 in the morning I woke up with excrutiating mid-back pain. I KNOW it's from how I was sitting for a good portion of the day. I came downstairs and tried to get comfortable on the recliner, but was in so much pain. I ended up taking a shot of my liquid pain meds from surgery last year, which mellowed it out. I was able to go back up to bed and sleep for a little longer. My kiddo got up at 7:30, so I got a decen amount of sleep, considering it was broken.
Guys, I'm struggling with my food being at home. I'm all over the place and feel out of control. I just keep eating stuff and I know I have to stop. what are some tricks that you guys use to stop the compulsive eating? My hubby has been out of town for two nights, and when he's not here I am even worse because no one can see me eat. I ate a mini sized bag of popcorn last night, some tortilla chips, an enlightened ice cream bar AND when I got up at 1 in the morning I had another ice cream bar. It's just out of control and I'm struggling to stop it. Hubby is on his way home today, so he'll be here tonight, but he's got to fly out again tomorrow and I am terrified that I will go on another bender.
Here is my plan for the day:
B: Light and Fit Greek Yogurt and 1oz of Cascadia Farms Fruity Os, no milk. Coffee with cream and SF coffeemate
L: tuna salad with cheese and tomatoes
D: grilled shrimp and steamed cauliflower
S: boiled egg and string cheese, and a quest protein shake with fresh strawberries

as for CKOTD: I grew up on a street that had a million kids of all ages. There were 6 girls of my age within 5 houses, and so many more. Every summer we played kickball, or kick the can. Hide and seek, even softball in the street, or volleyball over the "line" in the street. In the fall we'd play football in the street. It was supposed to be touch football, but it always turned into tackle if you found yourself on the grass. I loved jumping rope, and riding bikes and just being outside having fun. In the winter there were many snowball fights, and snow forts built. other than the horrible, hidden abuse at home, my life was pretty good on the outside. I grew up in a time where video games were fun and a novelty, but we spent more time outside having fun. I actually feel bad for the kids now, my oldest never got that experience because even if we told them to go out and play, there was rarely other kids around to play with.
Okay, my toddler is begging me to play with him, so I have to run. We're going to go play in the backyard before it gets too hot. I'll pop in later on.
If I was home all day like I know I would have a really really hard time staying on track, I know this because my weekends are always a battle! I wish I had some advise for you.
I know I have heard people say the kitchen is OFF LIMITED until you are cooking something. But really, I am in and out of the kitchen getting the kids drinks and snacks etc all day, so this kind of doesn't work well for me.
Home time is always the worst for me. Evenings are like "grazing" time. I have found that the more I stay busy with planned things, the better off I am. Also using MFP and making a plan helps. If I am just sitting still like to watch TV or read...that is when it sneaks up. Before I know it I have those damn pretzels or saltines in my hands. Now I have gotten rid of all of them and told the family that I am not having them in the house anymore. They all were good with it. If you find things that work be sure to share them because it is a struggle for me as well. Hope you have a pain free day with lots of hugs from your little guy.
Thinking of you sister!
