I hate to rub it in, but since surgery, I sleep like a baby. Before surgery, I was waking up between 3 & 4 am, every night. I guess I was stressed. I find exercise, no more caffeine and no more snoring, helps me sleep better too.

I was such a paranoid first time mom, that I got myself trained in CPR & heimlich. I've never had to use it. I am great in emergencies as long as it doesn't involve my family... Then I start yelling & completely panic. My husband is always in the right place at the right time. He had to perform the helich on my mom once a and saved her. Last year, he witnessed an accident and saved a man from a burning car (he broke his hand ripping the car door off) and even put out the fire, before the fire dept arrived. My hero.

Meals: protein coffee, ham & cheese, garlic shrimp, cantaloupe, Greek salad & kabasa, protein coffee.

Cal 700, Protein 104, carbs 41, fat 18

Good morning!  When I read everyone's menu and see calorie totals in the 700-800 range I go back to feeling like I'm eating too much. I'll take your word for it and carry on.  I love seeing other VSG'ers posting here. I feel like I was a trailblazer who passé the torch!

KQOTD - I used to be certified, but let both lapse. I think I could be useful. I keep calm in a emergency but once it passes I lose my mind!

food, such as it is.

B: shake

L: soup

D: soup

S: shake, light and fit, latte, various Popsicles

yesterday's was similar and totals were Cal. 764; protein 81g; fat 18g; carbs 71 g (why the hell???) who does this 1.5 weeks post surgery???)

Yeah but you are only a newbie to THIS surgery....I know it's hard to compare yourself to others, but you are doing FINE...GREAT even!!  Also, you dont have much weight to lose at this point, correct?

You just have to worry about eating too much volume at this point so you don't hurt your new (even tinier) tummy!

That's kind of what I'm concerned about. I can eat a whole light and fit yogurt. Also I'm legit hungry. It's NOT head hunger. After 2.5 years I know the difference. I'll ask my surgeon tomorrow at my follow up but I'm assuming the hunger is real. If I had to guess its because I don't have much more weight to lose. When you're fresh out of surgery, your body is living off the excess fat, so you're not really "calorie deprived" or "hungry". I don't have a lot of excess fat so I need actual calories to keep me going. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I think that sounds like an actual answer!! I have never gotten full from a yogurt...so there you have it. ;)

can you swap out your carb-y soups for broth with protein powder? that will lower the carbs

A broth with protein powder doesn't do anything for my hunger. The thicker more carby soups make me feel better. I'm not that concerned about the carbs right now and know they'll go down when I get to regular food. I'm losing weight (9 lbs since surgery on top of the weight I gained in the hospital) so that's not my concern. My concern was more that I can eat a whole yogurt 2 weeks post surgery

No bedtime routine here- I'm generally out within 30 minutes of getting in bed.

QOTD- I'm not trained in CPR; but I work around Firefighters & paramedics, there is always someone on hand to provide support. They did say they were going to offer CPR training for civilians- but I never saw it come to life. I did save my nephew's life when he was a baby-- he was choking on a locket he put in his mouth. I held him over my arm, almost to the point he was upside and swatted his back hard. The locket flew out of his mouth. It happened so damn fast- it was totally instinct that I worked from.

I made over 18K step yesterday. I'm not one who seeks to do 10k steps daily- my goal is 6k daily, and sometime I don't even hit that. 18K was a big deal for me!

time since surgery 14+ months

M1: 1/2 cup egg beaters, 3 oz ham

M2: cheese stick, cashews and sugar free pudding

M3:  Pork chop ~4oz
