Two years out -- no gas issues.

"What you eat in private, you wear in public." --- Kat

I know what foods makes me gassy.. and i avoid them most of the time... my gas is not worse than my "normal" BF gas.. and he also tries to limits / avoid foods that makes him gassy.
wheat - Sugar alcohols - onions -some fruits - my gas could peel a paint of a wall - or kill a small animal, but since I limit - or eliminated them, plus i make sure I don't get constipated - i do just fine..
i.e. last night I had brussels sprouts, they made me gassy....but there was no horrible odour and once the gas passed and I had good BM this morning - it is no longer an issue...
BTW: even preop RNY - soy , corn or beans - I had to avoid them... or suffer not only gas but also pain due to gas... after RNY - I still can't digest that - so I don't eat that.

I take probiotics and have no unusual problem with gas, no more than before surgery... Maybe in the beginning a little, but as others said once you get your system on a routine of what agrees with you...no problem

No gas issues 5 years post op .. and I constantly eat peas, beans , and cruciferous vegetables .
Thank God! In the very beginning though I once had some really embarrassing gas on a cross country flight .
My RNY totally solved my severe GERD issues that were making me overeat pre op.
