My nut said all fruit was okay at six weeks. It's weird how different plans are. I'm also grateful that I seem to have a pouch of steel. Nothing has bothered it that I've tried. No vomiting or anything.

Eggs are okay, but I CANNOT even think about tuna. I haven't tried it because the very thought of it gags me!

Good morning, and happy 4th!

Qotd: my mom is coming over for dinner. I have a pork roast in the crockpot to make pulled pork sandwiches with sugar free BBQ sauce. My challenges... I am struggling big time with head hunger. I eat my meal and I know my body has had enough but I want MORE of everything! So frustrating. I went to a birthday party last night and had brought a protein bar, but there ended up being stuff I could eat so I did okay. I didn't know I would be struggling this early on...where's that honeymoon period?

Here's my food for today:

B coffee with cream, 2 fried eggs

L turkey meatloaf, blueberries

D pulled pork and coleslaw

S Protein bar

The honeymoon doesn't mean it is easy, it just means you will lose weight even if you have slip-ups and aren't perfect.... it's the time to learn new habits because the scale won't be as forgiving if you aren't on point later on.

Sometimes I lave large pouch days and sometimes small pouch days... I don't know what it is...I am sure some of the large pouch days are head hunger but I am amazed on those days how much I can eat. You have to ride the wave and stick with it.

What SF BBQ sauce do you use?

I guess I thought it would be easier. The first month I had no appetite at all and it was so easy. I guess the fact that I'm struggling now means more practice at setting good habits for later.

I'm not a follow a recipe kind of girl. For the BBQ sauce I will mix tomato sauce, mustard, liquid smoke and a small bit of stevia. I haven't found a lot of SF sauces at my Walmart, so I've been making my own.

Eating too many fruits makes my head hunger worse... I had to give up some fruits...I.e cherries, pinapples, watermelon, etc.. Some fruits have more sugar than others. Plus protein bars... They triggered my cravings.

I can eat some berries...without feeling the next day like I need to "clean my fridge out"...

I agree - berries seem to be the safest. Protein bars (for me) have to be limited to when I'm traveling and know that I'll miss a meal - otherwise they start to seem like candy bars.

I don't have plans for today. We'll head home around 5pm. We're cooking BBQ foods- but indoors. Ribs, burgers, salad etc.

biggest challenge today is traveling: it's so easy to pick something up at every rest stop. I was prepared coming here, not so much for the return trip. Passing on my parents food offerings (which have been minimal thankfully) is 2nd hardest.

time since surgery: 14 months

m1: western omelette., 1.5 sausage patty, ~1/2c. Oatmeal with blue berries.

M2: burger patty, ribs,

m3-4:??

exercise: I even exercised today(Monday's are usually my off day). Even Impressed myself by being able to do a 6.0 speed on the treadmill!

Happy July 4th Everyone!

QOTD:  Planning on getting together with my brother and his large family this evening for Potluck and Fireworks.  My biggest challenge will be not eating any of the desserts people bring.

What I ate yesterday was:  a protein drink, a Clif protein bar, a Lean Cuisine meal, a small slice of pizza, sugar-free pudding and a Power bar protein bar.

Have a WONDERFUL and SAFE 4th of July Everyone!
