Good Morning, Menu Peeps! I am so happy that I still have two full days left of this 3 day weekend! Yesterday was great--lots of relaxing, lunch out, fireworks, and a bonus OH meetup with Grim and Peachpie and her husband, visiting from Philly. So fun! It turned out that all of the local coffee houses were closed early for the 3 day weekend, so ironically, we ended up at a place that made fresh bagels with this cool machine/conveyor belt right next to us. So we talked about eating healthy in front of this crazy contraption that was pushing out golden rings of deliciousness. Ha.

Peachpie was telling us the cool camps that her sons are going to this year--one is themed around American Ninja Warrior! I'm totally jealous! QOTD: Did you go to camp as a kid? How did you spend your summers? I got shipped off to a religious away camp up in Maine every summer for 7 weeks a time from the time I was 6 to 17. I loved it! It was very typical camp stuff--lots of traditions and legends, water sports, regular sports, arts and crafts, etc. I made some life-long friends and it really shaped me as a person. They have a one week arts camp for adults that I have always wanted to go back for, but unfortunately it always coincides with the first week of school, so it will never happen...

EDIT: My mom (a fellow RNYer) is apparently reading this thread all they from her vacation in Europe, and takes offense to saying I was "shipped off", and disagrees on how many years I went. She doesn't want to sound like a religious fanatic who didn't want her kid around. Fair. Sorry, Mom.

It's so hard to plan meals appropriately, on days like this. Yesterday I stuck to plan except that I had a few baked french fries from B Good. I did NOT, however eat fried dough at the fireworks, so I want to get extra credit for resisting...I really wanted some...! Today I see some ballpark food in my future (hamburger or hotdog) and probably just some protein forward snacks by the pool.

I hope you all have an awesome day!

I felt like I was in hell for the last two days! Standing selling food I was sick of for hours on end right next to the elephant ear and fried twinkle stand! Do you know how many of those fried sticky sweet yummy things I would have eaten before? I think that must be the true picture of torture. The weather yesterday was freezing and rainy so we didn't bring in as much as we hoped but we did fairly good anyway. And it was fun getting to spend time and learning more about some of my church family too! Thank heavens I have such a giving hubby and he helped me organize and did all the cooking and isn't even a church member! I definitely couldn't have done it without him. Rainy here today. Lily and I went up to walk and got one mile in before we were soaked. I guess the other 2.2 will happen on the dreadmill. Post op 46 months and weight at 119 today. I need to up the fluids today as I was way short of my goal yesterday. Today I'll do better. Here's the eats B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz salmon and 1/2 c broccoli at local sushi restaurant D 31/2 oz smoked sausage 1/2 c green beans S mission 1 chocolate chip protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some wise choices!

you are brave!

I made homemade bread for dh the other day- it smelled so good. I put a bite in my mouth chewed for a second, then spit it out. I just needed to make sure it tasted right before I served it- lol

Great photo!  Again, love these meet ups.  I was shipped off at age 13 to a weight loss camp (fat girl camp) in the Adirondacks.  I was terribly homesick and embarrassed to be there.  I begged my mother not to send me but I guess they thought it was for my own good.  I lost weight but gained it back probably before Christmas!

Harsh, I am sorry your begging fell on deaf ears hoping you have given your mom a pass.  (WLSer peachpie gave me a tish of comfort when she typed something like, "moms should get a free pass.")  Motherhood was hard thinking the nursing home my daughters pick will be the worst they could find. I noticed the word "shipped" was used twice (!)---going to camp was something unheard of because there was too much farm work to do.  A menu idea this 4th of July:  take one-half of a watermelon and place it upside down on a plate.  Trim away the green rind.  Pat the peeled watermelon dry with a paper towel.  Frost with whipped cream.  Sprinkle the top with fresh blueberries.  Happy, Healthy Red White and Blue to You.  (re-edited for clarity)

I went to one too... I can't remember if it was you I had this discussion with before. Which one? Camp Stanley?

Yes - we did have this conversation before.  I believe Camp Stanley was in the Adirondacks...

Morning!! Loved chatting with you all yesterday. And I'll admit that I folded and bought some of the yummy bagels we witnessed being made (for my sister/parents) but I did eat a cinnamon sugar bagel. I calculated out my day on MFP and since I was only at ~600 calories I went for it. It was Divine!! Worth every damn carb (about 60i****hink).

QOTD: I only remember going to camp at a local community center for part of a summer once. I can't recall what we actually did though. With so many kids (9)... We just looked out for each other most summers. I don't recall being bored, kickball in the street was a favorite pass time.

time since surgery: 14 months

m1: scrambled eggs, 2 pieces Canadian bacon, 1/2c oatmeal

m2: hopefully some left over tilapia that my mom made yesterday

m3-4: not sure.. Maybe a BBQ, maybe leftovers, maybe out.

Morning all. It was wonderful meeting Peachpie and her hubby yesterday. They're both really nice.

I never went to camp as a kid. We had a pool, and I pretty much lived in it. When school ended, I pretty much stayed outdoors all summer.
