it can be normal,for many.

hormones are stored in fat and as the fat is burned in weight loss, the hormones flood the blood stream and can cause mood swings.

Recovering from major surgery takes a lot out of any person.  Did surgery go well?  Are you having surgery regrets?  If yes, it is considered normal to feel that way.  The most important things you can do for yourself right now is to follow your post-op as closely as you are able.  Sipping on water would probably be #1 on the list.  When I was newly post-op, my spirits were lifted when I would move around.  Better days ahead was the goal and it happened.  It should happen for you, too.

I'm really having a bad day. Just depressed. My surgery went good but so constipated now. I'm all alone and I get so bored so I just sit here and think of food and how much I miss it. Will I ever be able to eat again! I feel like I have permanently changed my body and life and that I never will be able to eat even a sandwich again

It could also be all the drug such as pain med and anesthetic along with the hormonal changes from weight loss.

Hope you feel etter

I think it can be a very normal experience.  You are likely mourning your old lifestyle in some way, you are adjusting to  this huge eating change that very much trial and error, and if you are like me...you might be a little fearful of what lies ahead......not to mention the actual surgery that we know can bring on emotional fluxuations!!!!!

Things always get better in time.  It's only been a few days for you.  As you start to heal, gain strength, feel better and get used to your new life.....I'm sure you will be feeling brighter.  Hang in there

Are there any chat rooms for support. This posting messages and having to wait for response takes to long. Sometimes I want to talk to someone. Thanks

It's very normal. I felt down and "drained" for about a week after surgery. But I also have bipolar disorder and take medication for it, so I wasn't surprised that I felt that way. It does get better. You can always come on this board and talk to us about it :)

I totally felt the same way!!! Don't worry! The feeling goes away. Just stick to the plan, and you'll be so happy in a week or so!!!
