What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Deviled eggs are great to take to a party. I mean, who doesn't love a deviled egg? I like to mix them up a bit. I do a crab deviled egg where I add crab, chopped chives and a little dill. Or I add chipotle puree. I've also done one where I added a little finely chopped bacon, tomato and red onion. That was a big hit with the boys. The hard boiled egg is a blank canvas! I also do that same strawberry salad, but I generally use blue cheese instead of Feta. So good!
Yay on the infusion! you are going to feel so much better.

Except for bacon, there is not one thing on this post I would eat.

I had one last summer before my surgery. I have weird genetic blood disease passed down from my moms side which makes me more anemic that ever so the hematologist wanted to bulk up my iron levels before surg.
I don't like needles and they have to use the big ones for the infusions and that hurt but other than that- I felt so much better within a few days/weeks following.
you will also.
glad you got it worked out!
I am doing a quick drive by post now, and will be back later to read all of the posts. I have someone from marketing interviewing me in 20 minutes for an internal article all about me. Ugh! I can't imagine anything less interesting. This is my Friday, because I am taking tomorrow off. I am seeing Diana Ross at a local winery, and we are going early to hang out because it is such an awesome facility. I am also taking Tuesday off, so I have a 5 day weekend!!! Yay! I have houseguests this weekend, dinner out on Saturday, Brunch out on Sunday, a BBQ at a friend's house on the 4th that lives on a house boat and then I recover on Tuesday. Somewhere in there I need to move 400 bottles of wine from storage into my basement. I successfully put together all of my wine racks last night, and did not throw anything against the wall in frustration. It was a moment of growth for me. I also need to set up my back patio and, of course, visit with my Dad.
QOTD: I still haven't decided what I am bringing to the party on the 4th. Some sort of salad. I do an Asian'ish salad with orzo, shrimp, sugar snap peas, green onions and red bell pepper with a rice wine vinegar dressing. Usually a big hit. I also have a kick ass family baked beans recipe where you cook the beans at low temp all night using a bean pot. The house smell incredible in the morning. And yes, I have a bean pot just to make this recipe.
My menu is pretty loose today. We are having a department lunch, so that is an unknown.

B: Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette
S: Cherries and lite string cheese

I'm just a little obsessed with Diana Ross. And by a little, I mean: completely and totally. I've seen her twice but never at a small venue like a winery. That sounds amazeballs. Your whole weekend sounds great :) Enjoy!

Sounds like an awesome time. We are trying to figure out a new wine rack/chiller situation. Such a project. For now, I moved my daughter's shoe rack and shoes (she hasn't lived here in 5 years) out of her closet and we moved a bunch of wine into her closet. She is driving down tomorrow with all of the wines I bought in Napa at the beginning of the month and some more she picked up for me at her wine store, so I have lots of organizing to do.
We saw Motown the Musical last year and part of it included the Diana Ross character coming out into the audience and performing as if she was in concert. I was so into it, it seemed real!!! The audience was all holding hands and swaying together (yes, I was even holding hands with the random stranger next to me). I can't imagine what this will be like! So awesome!
