What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Hello Friends!
Budgeting is coming along. I found Mint.com and I think this is going to work pretty well. Managed to get my Guy to download the app on his phone and now we can both see the up to date status of "you are broke" anytime we want. I think it will help though. Nothing like growing up poor to make having money confusing. We will get it worked out. For now...everything on the cheap and life is still pretty damn amazing.
QOTD: No one...I mean NO ONE ever asks me to cook for them or bring a dish. I am the classic "You bring the ice" friend because I am not a gifted cook. If I have to make something I bring a cheese plate. Even I can't ruin that. LOL
Menu:
B: Dannon Light&Fit Greek Cherry (Changing up brands...look at me adventuring)
L: 1/2 cup noodles and 1 cup meat sauce (Left overs...mmmm. :( But cheapo for the win!)
S: Chobani Simply 100 Crunch Blueberry
D: Grilled ham steak
S: Apple
Totals: By the by...I just figured out that I can "make" things better or worse via which entries I pick on MFP. Very weird. Never noticed that not all of the entries have even similar nutritional stats. Hmmm.... interesting.

I think mint is great and DH and I used it alot until the last couple years. I also followed dave ramsey's snowball payment process and we were able to pay off both cars/credit etc. It's pretty great- focuses on paying cash for everything and working a plan to paydown stuff.
his premise is only buy when you have cash in hand- what a concept but I know we have been too easy getting into the habit of buying off amazon where its a 1 click- bam - hits the card- must break my bad habits and stay on top of things better :)
I did want that $12.99 spiralizer though....
What is this "Cash" you speak of. LOL I need to reintroduce myself to this magic. LOL

yeah i know right- if I just use my check card I don't track as well so the 'cash' system is supposed to help you not overspend. If you go on his website it tells you the percentages of each category, like housing, electric, food, cars, etc. Then you budget according to that. When we were being good, we would take out $$$ per paycheck and only pay cash for everything- when it was gone that was it until next payday.
It was so much nicer than just swipey swipey of the credit card. One less thing to worry about. I need to work on ours this weekend. We have been a mess in this area lately- had to put in 3500 into the truck for new trans, plus we bought that camper so yeah... its a struggle.
Seriously, my favorite person at my parties is the "you bring the ice" person. When I am hosting, it is really difficult to break away an hour or two before guests arrive to go pick up ice, so the person that brings it is my life saving hero!

I am pretty sure what I hear you saying is, "Come visit me and I will share some amazing wine with you." I'm pretty sure. I'll bring ice. LOL

Good Morning! Yay I love the talk of BBQs. They are one of my favorite things about summer and I do think we either go to one or have one every weekend.
My favorite thing to make if we are going somewhere is usually wings. I have a yummy recipe and they seem to just turn out right.
