I totally get this. I had planned on 2 oz of taco meat with a T of shredded cheese with some lettuce and salsa last night. My little salad was a mere fraction of what I use to eat, but I could only eat less than half of it.

My advice for eating out is to just order the protein.  Tell the server what you want and ask if you can get it on the side or on its own. That eliminates this problem. You aren't really at the point of eating meals, especially if you want to keep the focus on protein. I have been able to just order a scallop or shrimp skewer just about anywhere that serves them. Just ask.

I too am having trouble adjusting my quantities when I cook.  When I was told I could start eating "COOKED" veggies, I was soooo hungry for cooked veggies a sautéed 2 zucchini, 1 onion, 8oz. of mushrooms, 2 whole carrots!  Do you know how MUCH that made......LOL.  I had a HUGE serving bowl of veggies starting at me.  And, it's only me.  I live alone.  LOL  But boy did that 2 TBS of veggies taste good.  This was a week ago and I'm still eating them.  I just measure out 2 TBS and mix with my protein and i'm good.
