Hi everyone,

I'm back after a hiatus and a big ol' crybaby nervous breakdown, hating myself, this surgery....wah, wah, wah.  I slowed WAY down on my weight loss and my hair is falling out by the handfuls, so I was like, "WHAT HAVE I DONE? I'm down almost 85 lbs but only 2 pants sizes??!?!? And, even if I do get thin, I'm going to be bald!" I'm starting to feel better, even though I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a wig before this is all said and done.  I'm going to take before and after pics when I hit that magical 100 pound mark, so you guys can tell me what you think.  I'm still convinced 50lbs of my weight loss is hair.

B: Cafe Americano, 2 splendas and a yogurt

L: Chicken salad

D: Shrimp salad

QOTD: I have a sister.  She's very successful as an IT director and has very little to do with her poor, older (2 years) sister.  She always finds time to reach out to me when she is buying a new BMW or is vacationing somewhere exotic.  She's a real peach.

You guys have a great day and thanks for listening to me whine!

My hair loss stopped between months 7 and 9, and I lost a lot of hair.  I had a ton before, but it's much, much thinner now.  the good this is that it's growing back, but I've decided that I'm going to get it chopped off next month, just to bring it all in line so it can grow out evenly.  I hate having scraggly longer pieces.

That's what I'm afraid of, I don't want to chop mine off YET, I'm terrified of having "mom hair".  But, I'm afraid I'm going to have bald spots peeking through soon.  A friend of mine who went through this says to me, "I wore a wig for a couple of years until it grew back", I'm thinking to myself, "??!?!?!?!?!? THIS IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE ME FEEL BETTER ?!?!?!?!??!?!??!"

Thank you for sharing your misery!  I love company. :)

But seriously...I really do appreciate you sharing that you have been struggling.  I struggle.  Will struggle more.  Have bad days, bad weeks... all that.  You being open about your blah stuff helps me feel I can be open about mine and vice versa.  Let's do this thing together...the good the bad and the hairless.

It does take a long time for sizes to change at the higher weights, but it does change dramatically as you get closer to your goal. Now may be the time to go get a new hairdo.  Hairdressers can help come up with a style that will make the loss less noticeable. I used Nioxin shampoo and conditioner and took (still do) Hair, Skin, and Nails.  I lost hair, but not by the handful, although I felt it was that much sometimes. I am sure your weight loss is noticeable to all who see you and not solely hair related. The oly thing I wish is that I had done this years ago. I hope it all gets better for you.

I am soooooo late to the party, and even later because I read through all the posts....

My 4am arrival - 17 hour drive - finally caught up to me. Took a bath and was in my PJ's by 7PM last night. and this morning woke up at 8am then rolled over and fell back asleep until 10:15. It is now 11:45 and I have done nothing LOL....sigh. I do have things to do. Teaching my first Art Class of the summer on Thursday and need to get my act together...

QOTD: Siblings? I am the youngest of five. My oldest brother lives in Massachusetts- he is a certified genius/computer person. Started working for IBM in the 80's when PCs first came out, has worked as a computer consultant forever...He just called me last night. I don't hear from him often but when I do it is a long conversation. Last night 1 hour 20 minutes. Problem is when he gets on his geek talk I don't understand most of what he is saying. I know it is English but...Apparently he is working for a company presently that is finishing up a voice recognition project for Apple that he is a part of... so he will be looking for a new job when it is done. My two middle brothers, 2 years and 4 years older than me- live about 30 minutes from me with their families. They both run the family business my father started in our basement when I was 18 months old. One of them lives in the house we grew up in and the other I am so proud of the job he did with his girls. He has 5 girls, and while I love my sister-in-law dearly, she fell off the rails into Alcoholism and they divorced after 20 years. He got custody of all 5 girls, ages 6 to 16 at the time.... He raised those girls himself, God bless him. They are 21-31 now. My ex-SIL is doing better now. My sister lives in Arizona for the last 25 years. We all have our crazy but love each other. I love my family.

It is noon and I have eaten nothing, only have consumed my pre-workout drink while here on the computer but haven't worked out yet...yup one of those kind of days. Workout next on the agenda...

B: Turkey meatballs with ricotta and cheese

L: Protein drink

S: salad with hard boiled egg and avacado

D: Grilled Chicken, veggie TBD

S: PB on a spoon

EX; 21 day fix. Getting back to Ab work and weights after being off for so long from surgery killed me yesterday....oy. Just cardio is not the same.
