Numbness in legs from vitamin deficiencies
So, I have a question that has been asked sorta answered but not followed up. I would like to see if anyone has had this issue, dealt with it and what was the outcome.

So, recently in the last month or so, Ive noticed that my legs (thighs and calves) and areas in my body are numb on the skin. Its not a painful numb just an irritating numb. You know its numb but if you were to pinch it, you could feel it.
I did some research and apparently I too found out it can be the b vitamins that can cause it. My Questions are.
What were your steps to treat it?
With this numbness, (if you have/had it is it reversible?
Where was your numbness?
Did you have any other symptoms?
Others were listed and Ido have them Things like Difficulty concentrating at times and memory loss.
So, I had lab work Tuesday and Hematologist visit Friday and apparently my B-12 is really low. I have always struggled with B12 even before the surgery. I am anemic. Tablets and sub-lingual doesn't seem to help. I am on Baratric Fusion Vitamins with B-12 in it but still nothing. So, she has prescribed me Shots to do at home. I'm still waiting on the OK from insurance. Good ole insurance huh!
I have not experienced the numbness you are talking about.
I take my B-12 nasally once a week. One squirt and my labs have always been fine. (knock on wood) It comes by Rx only - I get all my bariatric vitamins for one co-pay from a mail order pharmacy.
I would try the nasal B-12 before going to shots if you have not tried it.
I hope you feel better soon - there are other complication from low b12, so you are correct to get it in range.

Yes, Nascobal. Did you have a pharmacist try to get it covered? I get mine in the mail from some place in FL.

I give myself weekly B12 shot. I need my weekly, not monthly. My insurance have no problem with that. My doc did not think I needed weekly..but when he saw my b12 at 400 at 8 days after injections - he just shook his head and wrote it ... Since then - no issues.
Before the doc gave me script - I used to buy b12 injectable on line. It was not really that expensive.

Even when my B-12 was normal but more in the 500 range I was having numbness. I started taking 200mg a day sublingually which helped. Then I switched to the Patch MD multivitamin and reduced the sublingual to 1000mg a day....even better. It has worked. My B-12 was recently tested and was in the 1100 range, but that's OK... considered high, but no symptoms.

Did you get answers on this ? I had my sleeve in 2017 and did not take my vitamins . In the last month i have numbness in my hands . My lab work came back with low Vitamin D and Iron but my B12 levels were fine. I my trying to see if this would be the reason . They are sending me for MRI but wanted to see if it could just be my vitamins level.
