Issues with sugar or what?
You are wrong and should listen to the vets on this forum. Fat does not make you fat. Regular fat foods, like dairy, cheese, etc are necessary to keep you satisfied as well as to maintain good heath. Your body NEEDS fat. Most got fat because of humongous portion sizes and out of control carb consumption. From other posts, I take it you are pre-op. If you don't shed your outdated ideas and open yourself up to proper nutrition education, I predict you will have problems. Like the others who have posted, I'm maintaining a 120lb+ weight loss and I do it by eating fat, dairy, fat, meats, full fat cheese, etc. See a pattern? So thanks for your comments, but I think I'll continue eating the way I have for the past 2+years in order to maintain my weight loss and health. Why do I feel the need to go to Starbucks for an iced coffee with cream????
Beliefs & facts are 2 different things. I believe you need to do a little more research on your own.

For me, it wasn't WHAT I ate so much as HOW MUCH I ate.
You would be wise not to make assumptions about others' health situations.

My last comment - at the end of the day we got or will be getting WLS because of weight issues and certainly not by eating the right stuff. If you believe that eating fatty foods did not cause you to gain weight that is just fine, but for me I chose not to believe that.
I can't wait to watch your progress
I'm very curious. What is your post op eating plan? Even though you haven't had surgery yet, it sounds like you've researched it quite a bit.
