I woman from my support group says the same thing WLS saved her twice...for the same reason. Breast Cancer probably wouldn't have been detected when she was MO. She is past it and doing well...

Good Monday morning. Sad to be back at work after a nice weekend, aside from it being unbelievably oven hot. I went to Malibu last night and it was 105 until I hit the coast. Then it dropped to a chilly 89. 89 at the beach!!! Craziness. It's supposed to be hotter today, so I'm looking at 113-115. I think I'll plant myself at my desk and not move until the sun goes down. My poor siberian husky just looks at me with a "please make it stop" look on his face. Sorry to hear about the playoff loss, AV, but I agree, frozen custard makes everything better. Also, a huge shout out to Nikki who totally killed the 70.3 miles! Way to go!!
I continue to go a bit off the rails, now that I have less than 2 weeks until surgery Nothing horrible, I just haven't been as careful as usual and I'm eating out a ton. At this point, I can't wait until surgery is over with.
Edit to add KQOTD: Hogwarts . . . no question, without a doubt. I want to go to the Leaky Cauldron!
Here's my plan:
B: 2 eggs, 1.8 oz diced ham, .5 oz cheese; latte with 4 oz fairlife milk
L: Hamburger patty with grilled onions, slice of cheese
D: New York Strip; Asian Slaw
S: 2 oz sliced turkey, Dannon lemon meringue (Yummy flavor)
Totals: Cal. 1071, Protein: 115g: Fat: 51g; Carbs: 25g (Carbs are too low . . . and that makes my head and heart hurt to say that . . . I'm supposed to be high protein/high carb for the next 2 weeks) le sigh . . .

I will join you at the Leaky Cauldron!
Why do they want you to be higher carb before surgery? And what forget consider good numbers for that?

He told me to prepare for this surgery like I was preparing for a race. He said to carb load because I need the extra carbs for energy. I don't have a significant amount of body fat left to burn so the carbs are to increase my energy/glycogen stores. This week isn't as bad, he just wants my protein up over 100g a day and carbs around 60g a day. Next week is nuts. Protein 120-150g a day and carbs around 200g a day

Wow. I mean I probably accidentally did that twice this weekend, but I can't imagine actually doing it on purpose....!
