Flavoring cream soups.
I an currently 11 days out on my surgery and am right in the middle of the cream soup phase and am getting a little tired already of cream of potato soups without the potatoes. Anyone have any good ideas for anything to add for flavoring? I tried a little chicken gravy powder last night that was ok but am looking for other ideas that others have tried and liked.
I am a huge fan of Sriracha and Tabasco.
But more importantly, I would not eat cream of potato as potatoes have a ton of carbs... I would lean toward cream of celery or chicken or something more harmless... I am glad to hear you are eating it without the potatoes :)
I was lucky, Pouchy liked spice early on so things like Sriracha didn't bother me much.

heh even pre surgery I couldnt even eat things like tacos as they are too spicy for me. Can't imagine how it would be now. Ive tried a couple of other things today that seem to help a lot, just dropped a couple bouillon cubes into the soup and it give it more then enough flavor for now. As for the other cream soups ive tried cream of chicken which is ok but not a huge fan of celery. Only 10 more days to go then its onto baby food :P.
I added chicken flavored protein powder to them myself and enjoyed it immensely at that stage. I also added the powder to mashed potatoes and broth and cottage cheese - I really liked that flavor
