where are the stats?
I don't know how reliable it is, but a Center of Excellence is supposed to have lower rates of complications, among other things.
Ask a surgeon what their personal stats are. Focus on the number of surgeries they have done. Repetition is key. If they've only done a few hundred, it isn't enough. Find someone else.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
I checked the Center of Excellence website and it doesn't seem too comprehensive. It may be something like the Better Business Bureau! There is NO accredited surgeon or facility in Austin, and yet I understand the doctor I have chosen is very reputable. I am shy to ask for stats, though. or "How many patients have you lost?" There are other great ones there, too, but I wanted to make sure the surgeon I have chosen is fully experienced with the procedure I need to have! If you're getting a face lift, even the best rhinoplasty surgeon in the world is probably not going to be the best for you, know what I mean?
Your insurance company may have stats on the claims that they have paid. I think your question is terrific. I searched the internet briefly, and only found this app. But it does not summarize results for bariatric surgery.
