What's on Your (photo) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Quick drive by here on my way to a follow up dexascan.. excited to see what they say. Then off to the beach at lake Michigan. Yesterday was day 2 of Hidden Basil saga of 2016. Who sautes basil in when you order Spinach? Unfortunately that Spinach happened to be part of a Chicago Deep Dish Pozza. Also what respecting Italian place doesn't have a side order of meatballs you can order? WTF Chitown, meatballs aren't a thing?
B: premier protein
L: himmus and chicken on a law carb wrap at the beach x 2, veggies, pecans
D:??
S: protein bar , peanut butter

My grandpa always told me, if you aren't cooking your own slab of meat over an open flame, you can't trust it.
They'll always find a place to slip some basil into something.

Good morning and Happy Friday! I'm enjoying the last semi-cool day before the temperature climbs to slightly cooler than oven. I did not get to a dress this week, but love a challenge, so maybe next week, except for the day when I have to do the "full body" photo shoot for the new website. There are no words to describe my lack of excitement for that photo shoot.
The "Pop" basket is hysterical and totally worth your excitement!! Can't wait to hear his reaction on Monday. My dad passed away in 2010 and since then, my brother, mother and I have developed this little tradition. My father LOVED this donut shop in the Farmers' Market in LA. When I was younger, he would wake me up on the weekends early to go have coffee and donuts. So, we will get up early sunday and go to the Farmers Market to Bob's Donuts for donuts and coffee in his honor . . . we have to get the coffee in the little glass carafe (one year I dared to order a latte and my brother objected saying my father would NEVER order a latte) and either a powdered sugar or cinnamon donut. Other than that, I've got nothing.
My first concert was James Taylor at the Greek Theatre. I may have been 13.
Here's my plan:
B: 2 oz ground turkey, scrambled eggs and .5 oz cheese, latte with 4 oz fairlife milk
L: Chicken thigh meat; broccoli
D: Hamburger with grilled onions and slice of cheese
S: Dannon light and fit.
Totals: Cal: 924; Protein: 99g; Fat: 46g; Carbs: 21g
Have a great weekend everyone!
Happy Friday everyone. I cannot express how happy I am that it is finally Friday. This week has been a looooong one. Congrats Kristin on your boy being in the playoffs. That is so very cool. And I love your Father's Day basket. I got my Dad a book, so not nearly as creative as you.
QOTD: I was 12 when I wanted to go to my first concert. My parents said I couldn't go, because concerts were full of people doing drugs and not safe. I kept bugging them until they gave in, on one condition. That they go with me and my friend. I was 12, I didn't care, so they came along. They had a great time, and didn't see any drug use, inappropriate behavior, etc. After that, they gave me the green light to go to concerts. That concert was The Carpenters. My second concert was Doobie Brothers. Ha! I could not have planned that better if I tried.
I have tickets to a couple concerts this summer, Diana Ross and Fitz and the Tantrums. Both are outdoor concerts. The first at a winery and the second at the Zoo. Then in October I have my biggie concert. Three days of amazing at Desert Trip outside of Palm Springs: Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and The Who. The only way that line up could be better is if they regenerated David Bowie. Oh and I almost forgot, also have Willie Nelson tickets.
This weekend I will be walking in the Pride Parade with Kaiser, in support of our LGBTQ members, patients and employees. It means a lot more this year, given the horror in Orlando. Then I will be spending the rest of the day with my Dad.
Today's picture is a denim dress I bought at White House Black Market. I belted it for the first time, and am a little unsure about the look. It is out of my comfort zone. Oh well, people at work are getting what they are getting. First picture is of my baby Layla, just because she is so cute after her spa day.

Yeah, The Carpenters were really known for drug use and wild behavior at their concerts.

Couldn't agree more about today being Friday. Love the WHBM dress and the kitty pic. I might have shopped there on Saturday and spent way too much money, even with all of my coupons. Now I have to find some shoes to go with one of the outfits so I can wear it. I think my feet finally shrunk and I need shoes, but size 11s are not the easiest to find cute shoes.

Every time I walk into WHBM I spend way more money then I intended, but everything is so cute! What is a girl to do? Do you have a Nordstrom Rack nearby? They always have a good supply in all sizes. If not, they are online. Zappos too.
