Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! Thought it would never come - another loooooong week here. Today is the beginning of our excessive heat warnings in Southern Cal for the next several days. I don't have A/C at home and I have a vacation day on Monday. (I'm almost thinking I'll come to work anyway, just for the A/C as it's expected to be 105 in our inland valleys - thank goodness I live by the beach and hope to get a little break.)
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pop Basket idea!!!! I miss my Dad, but this is the kind of fun I used to have for Father's Day when he was still with us.
QOTD - (my fav answer so far is Osmond Bros - how cool is that!): Mine is Led Zepplin in 1976. It was the first year they came out with lazer light shows and it was the bomb!
My pic of the day is my Friday Casual outfit -- everything is new (right down to the jewelry) and I had fun picking it out. (My cross addiction is definitely shopping - I'm scaring myself.)
16 Months Since RNY and Maintaining!
Scrambled egg w/3 oz turkey kielbasa
.5 cup Bone Broth
2 oz Smoked Turkey Breast
2 oz Deli Ham
2 Ballpark Turkey Franks w/Mustard
1 oz Mixed Nuts
7 Pieces Moon Cheese
3 S/F Shortbread Cookies
CALS-808, CARBS-46, PROTEIN-71
Vitamins and Water - Check
Exercisse - 50 Minute Hike
Have a great weekend everyone!
You look great! Cute outfit too! I am also worried about the heat in So Cal this weekend. We have air conditioning, but live in the Inland Empire where it gets HOT HOT HOT. And I have that stupid SCE Cycling program where they can turn it off remotely if usage is high, which will likely happen. Uggh.

Good afternoon! We're gearing up for 3 hot days here, so outdoor activities will be shifted to the early morning hours.
My trip to Toronto was wonderful in terms of seeing old friends and meeting new ones at the museum reception, eating at Trattoria Mercatto for the first time (delicious), viewing two interesting exhibits, and buying an embarrassingly large quantity of art supplies at Above Ground :). Driving in town and on the freeway was 'complex' and slow due to all the construction...I had to pry my fingers off the steering wheel after a couple of close calls in traffic. It was a relief to get home undamaged.
QOTD: 'Heart' played at my high school sockhop in the early 1970s (Port Coquitlam, BC) before they were famous, and I went to lots of concerts in parks, but don't remember the band names. The first concerts I recall buying tickets for were Deep Purple and the Beach Boys (not at the same time, of course)!
Food today is a mixed bag of leftover chicken and ham, with yogurt and protein bars to fill in the gaps. I'll track on MFP as I go.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Stay cool in the A/C this weekend!

I'll definitely let you know! Dale Chihuly is showing at the ROM this summer, so I'll be in touch before planning my visit. Since I won't need a car this time, I may drive to KW and take the GO train downtown to avoid parking hassles.
One of the more 'exciting' moments of yesterday's drive occurred while I was driving along Queen St. West. Construction on the right was cutting into the westbound driving lane, so cars were crowding the center line. Just as a streetcar came barreling along towards me, a cyclist with a big dog running alongside his bike swerved in front of my car and it was more luck than skill that I didn't hit him or the dog, get rear-ended by the car behind me, or sideswipe the streetcar. Phew! A cheap adrenaline rush - who needs caffeine!
Look forward to reading about your new car next week. Have fun at your BBQ tomorrow!
