Allergy to corn
If I were you, I'd stop eating corn and corn by-products.

I'm not allergic to it, but since surgery, it makes me feel terrible if I eat it. It's a good thing, really ( for me, anyway ), because corn is so starchy that it's not something I need to eat anyway. I've figured out that I can use cornstarch for a thickener, and the soluble corn fiber in Quest bars doesn't mess with me. I guess because I'm ingesting a small amount. I can't eat a whole Quest bar, and the amount of sauce I might have with dinner is tiny.
Not sure what else can be done other than reading labels and asking questions when eating something at a restaurant or at someone else's house/or parties.

I can't eat corn. Or wheat, or most grains anyway. Or dairy...Soy- even looking at it gives me hives..
Food allergies and intolerances are very common...
do you know if you react to HFCS ? -it is in a lot of foods - it is made from corn...

Corn is evil... Monsanto made sure of that.
GMO, non-digestible.
I hate that too, because I equate summertime to chomping on a nice warm piece of corn on the cob with melted butter dripping from my fingers :(
I wonder... if we could find heirloom corn seeds that Monsanto hasn't polluted, if we'd all react the same way...

I'm working on figuring out if it's all corn and its byproducts or just some. I had popcorn a few weeks ago with no problem (pre-surgery). Those of you who don't eat corn, what kinds of protein shakes are you drinking? I'm about to come off my liquid diet and start soft foods. I imagine that will be a bit easier since I'll have more options. I'm just curious what kinds of foods work for you and what brands. Thanks for the help!
Since young adulthood, my mother has been severely allergic to corn, to the point of anaphylaxis. She ate one bite of cornbread and nearly died when I was just an infant. She can't have anything made from corn meal or even pizza crust or buns dusted with corn meal. She does okay with things containing corn syrup though.
Since then she has also become allergic to bananas.
There's worse things you could be allergic to! Keep your chin up and carry on!
