Just try to remember that if your dad called you thunder thighs at 140, well... try not to let him get in your head. All I can say is a dad should love you no matter what.... Mine called me chunky monkey, after my divorce I was dieting and eating a carrot stick when he came in and he popped my hand and told me that I needed to stop eating unless I wanted another husband to cheat on me like the first. He told me that he bet I woulda liked it better if I was built more like my step sister which he said was a perfect 10 bc her long thin legs .... I had had enough and told him that that was impossible since he was short and fat and so was mom so it was impossible to for me to have long lanky legs. I don't know exactly what I'm saying but I guess I'm trying to say don't let him affect your self esteem .  

I feel your frustration about the slow loss and I can't see a difference at all. Not even in my clothes and I've lost 18 lbs in 6 weeks. Logically we know it's more than we could do without this surgery but I understand how you feel . 

I'm sorry your dad said those things. It was a ****ty way to act.

Dad's are a PIA... all the while, he's my daddy, and I look up to him and love him dearly... the sad thing is, he no longer teases me about my weight... I guess now that I'm actually fat, it's not so funny anymore 

I don't see him often, so I just wanted him to get to see a glimpse of the old me coming through... I guess he'll just have to come and visit me for that!

We'll both start to feel a difference soon enough, right?!

Things get MUCH easier after 8 weeks and in my case even at six... (((()))) hang in there

You will be amazed at what people notice!!  My friends noticed it in my face when I was about 25 pounds down.  My girls graduated HS the 1st of June...and my hubby's sisters came--mind you, they hadn't seen me in a year or so--and they noticed NOTHING.  I am 66 lbs down now...and NOTHING.  They said nothing.  I couldn't believe it.  BUT, I feel better, soooo much better.  And, that is what matters...I did this for ME and no one else.    I am willing to bet your dad will notice it...you are 27.5 lbs down now..and he will notice.  Don't get impatient, as it does take time...but it will happen.

Don't be bummed!  You are doing great. You will continue to have stalls....and they are frustrating, but you will get past them.

So do your sister in laws know about your surgery?? Because if they do, and they didn't say a word about 66lbs, it's because they are jealous morons!  Oops, sorry... 

My spouse notices it in my face, and can now put his arms all the way around me... so I know, intellectually, there are changes. I just want to move into the other closet with smaller clothes!

Actually, no, my sister in laws do no know about my surgery!   As much as I see them, I don't really feel it is any of their business.  LOL

As for the clothes thing...I just now went out and bought new clothes cuz my 3-4x clothes were hanging on me.  I am now wearing a size 18 in pants (was 22/24 before), and XL in tops.  I didn't spend too much, but just enough to get me by.

Have patience...it will happen!
