Actually you are correct, I totally forgot in grade school I did play hockey, I was Goalie and I sucked so after two seasons I quit.

But that is really funny cuz I think its in our Canadian DNA we must play hockey LOL LOL

Morning morning OH family,

Today is a continuation of the blahs.  My trans son has a doctor appointment this afternoon at 1:30 so I brought him to work with me. That is cheering me up some.  I love when you can corner a teenager and 'make' them spend time with you. He and I spent the hour drive into the city discussing our upcoming teaching at the transgender symposium this weekend in OKC.  With the tragedy in Orlando there are definitely some things that we will be changing. He is such an awesome kid and I hate that he has to feel afraid.

They are providing extra police protection for the symposium.  When did my life suddenly need protective services? Uhg.  I know most straight folks see this like a terrorist attack or random violence but for us Queer folk it is much more like 9-11 felt. Not the same but pretty damn rough. If you have any LGBTQ+ folks in your work place or your day today be gentle, we are having a rough go.

I also have my 8 month follow up with my doctor today.  Hoping my labs all look good.  Will know this afternoon. Hoping to find out what he suggests for these damn cramps too. My legs and feet are so sore.

QOTD: I swam, sailed, rode horses, and played a little football. I actually forced the issue of intramural sports at my middle school not allowing girls to play until they let me play football...then I quit like two weeks later because it was pretty miserable. I was a pretty good linebacker...big girls at that age can take out some teen age guys.  Was kinda epic. I've always been a rebel I guess.

Menu:

B: Greek yogurt Chobani Simply 100 Crunch

L: Greek yogurt (I'm seeing a theme here.  Yogurt seems to be the only thing that doesn't upset my pouch these days.  Need to work on that)

S: Apple

D: Not sure.  My son and I will be coming home from the city so I will get home late.  Possibly left over hamburgers from last night.

Do you live in OKC? I live just North of town... my spouse is FtM, just a few months in. Unfortunately we'll be out of town for the symposium, but I have very close wonderful friends here in LGBTQ world. I can't believe we scheduled our trip to Florida during Pride though! LOL I wonder if we know some of the same people... small world!

Wow!  Very small world indeed! I don't live up there.  I live outside of Austin Texas.  I have connections with the OKC community though so the director asked me to be part of the event.  Then the board found out how awesome sauce my kiddo is and they invited him to be a board member.  Yay for listening to the youth voice directly, right?  I'm super sad you won't be in town!?!?! That would have been really wonderful.  Next time I am headed up there for an event we will have to meet up.

Here is a link to an article about the event.  Maybe you know some of the folks involved?

Have a great day,

Good morning, still no dresses/skirts here.  Soon though.   Hooray for you son, quite the athlete that boy!

QOTD:  I never played organized team sports because when I was growing up there really weren't any team sports for young girls until high school.  I took dance lessons and played backyard ball.  That's about it.  Title IX wasn't until 1972.  I encouraged my girls from a very young age to participate in sports, they both have played soccer, softball and basketball.  My oldest also did cheerleading and gymnastics, and played softball and volleyball in high school.  My youngest took karate for a few years and now plays field hockey.  Both also took dance lessons for quite a few years. (I know, I know, dance is not considered a sport, but it's great exercise).

B:  2 eggs, decaf coffee w/cream

L:  3 meatballs w/ tomato sauce

D:  Turkey tenderloin, broccoli

S:  babybel & mary's gone crackers

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow!  It's my 60th Birthday today!  OMG how did THAT happen?!  I sure don't FEEL 60!  Thanks to the 55 lbs. I've lost so far, I feel younger than I did 4 months ago!  Thank you very much to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday on Facebook!

QOTD:  Totally NON athletic!  Unless you count when I was age 16 - 24 and I worked as a stocker at a grocery store.  I stocked the soap and dog food aisle and I threw around those heavy boxes of powdered laundry soap they used to have back in the '70's and 50 and 100 lb. bags of dog food.  I got quite a workout doing that job!  But as for sports, no, I've never been any good at any of them.

Yesterday I ate:  a protein shake, a muscletech mission 1 protein bar, a Lean Cuisine beef enchilada meal, Mr. Cheese O's, an Atkin's snack bar and sugar-free pudding.  Today will probably be similar.

Exercise:  Taking the dogs for a walk.

Have a fantastic day today everyone!
