Good morning!! I'm in pants today-- I'm only working a 1/2 day and didn't want to "waste" a cute outfit LOL! I will be in a skirt tomorrow- will try and remember to take a pic. I even brought my shorts/t-shirt to change into.

Congrats to your son! QOTD: Nope- never played sports as a kid. Never was interested, or was otherwise encouraged to. My hubby was a baseball/track star...even had a baseball scholarship. Those are days long gone though...

Time since surgery: 13+ months

M1: 2 scrambled egg and 2 oz ham

M2: greek yogurt with raspberries & grnaola

M3: today is the traditional end of school year lunch with my sons-- we're likely going to cheesecake factory.

M4: Jerk chick legs/things, veggies, (yellow rice for the family)

New menu idea if your jar of salsa ($2.50) goes bad before you can finish:  a can of no-salt diced tomatoes (68 cents) stirring in half an envelope of salsa seasoning mix (50 cents). QOTD: Volleyball was my favorite high school sport known for wicked serves and spikes thanks to being a farm girl with biceps that bulged from daily lifting of hay bales.  Back then, I worked hard, played hard, and ate hard with no consequences.  Then, moving to a city, no more sports, getting married, having babies, staying home a lot, getting older and eating the same way---well, it didn't take long to be in trouble--serious trouble with lasting effects WLS or not.  These legs will never see a skirt or dress again but it's sure fun to view everybody else's.

Happy Tuesday.  I did not wear a dress/skirt today because it is cold and overcast. I'll get with the program towards the end of the week.  It's supposed to get up to 106 by saturday.  I guess summer has arrived.  Kristen, congratulations on your All Star!  That's awesome!!  I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow.  My surgeon is making me sit through the pre-op and post-op nutrition classes.  I told him I didn't really think I needed it because I have experts (you all) that I can turn to.  He told me refreshers are always good and that I WILL take the class.  So I get to go and sit with other pre-ops for two hours and learn about food progression, the importance of exercise, etc.  I'm only slightly annoyed as my surgeon's group actually has a really good plan and I'm sure there are things I've forgotten in the last two years.  I'm already trying to get back in the habit of chewing my food to death . . . Would it be totally wrong of me to bring snacks to the class?  The meeting is right in the middle of my morning snack time and I have protein goals to reach . . . I guess it would be wrong since the others in the room will be on their 2 week pre-op diet . . .

KQOTD - Yes, I was active when I was younger (although I had weight issues back then).  I swam and played tennis.  There were many days where I would go directly from swim practice to my tennis lessons.  During summer I would go to tennis camp . . . the kind where you had to try out for admission and placement.  Fun times.

Here's my plan for the day:

B: ground turkey 3.2 oz; cheddar cheese 1 oz; tbs pesto; latte with 4 oz fairlife milk

L: Grilled chicken and mixed veggies (the leftovers from my chicken bowl minus the rice from yesterday's lunch)

D: Pork chop (4 oz); pear and gorgonzola salad

S: turkey slices (2 oz) and laughing cow cheese; light and fit (lemon meringue!)

Totals: Cal: 977 Protein: 118g; Fat: 39g; Carbs: 35g

I have very few skirts/dresses... I think I quit buying them when my thighs got too big... I'll have to get more as I lose.

QOTD: When I started reading this, I thought to myself that I hadn't been athletic at all... but then slowly some memories resurfaced. I did tap when I was young, 4-7yo... gymnastics from about 9-11... Nothing in high school that didn't include sneaking off to smoke, or skipping classes (sigh)... and some company sponsored softball leagues in my 20's. I was so great they had me in the right outfield! I once had a ball hit directly to me... I got so excited... I caught it and stood there jumping up and down - all the while the other two opponents that had been on base did their thing and scored. My team kept screaming, Throw the ball!!, and I didn't know what they were saying, I just thought they were impressed I actually caught the thing. I think I drank beer at the rest of the games! hahaha

4 weeks since surgery (tomorrow is 1 month!)

B: Bariatric Advantage cookies and cream shake (I think this bag is endless, and I really wish that wasn't so... sigh)

L: Albacore tuna in a yellow coconut curry (Found this at Sprouts, made by Fishpeople, it's awesome!) (I had 1/2 of the pouch)

S: Another one of those damned shakes...

D: Not entirely sure yet, but it'll either be more tuna, or some hummus and maybe some cheese.

Still trying out my little pouch on new foods, it doesn't always go well... I'm on the soft food stage.

Hi OH friends,

I started running in the 7th grade because my sister was heavy. But I had had body issues since grade school. I must admit it was trauma from a very young age.

I must admit that RNY is the best decision of my life. Also, finding this site has been a blessing. Thank you AV for your daily posts.

Time since surgery 18 months

B Coffee, 2 eggs

L Chicken, nuts

Snack more coffee woo hoo

D Protein shake

E/V on track. 45 minutes of power walk.

Bless you all!
