Have you contacted your doc yet??  I had troubles with anemia afterwards....in the hospital (had 2 pts of blood!), as well as at home. Finally got put on iron and feeling better.  Call you doc first. I am 3 months post op, and loving it.  You might also just try clear liquids for meals (like broth and broth and broth--I hated this stage)...it was very easy on my newly re-routed inners.

Don't worry about eating, but do get your water in. Dehydration can cause nausea and dizziness.  Keep sipping and you should be getting about 64 ounces a day.

Could be dehydration if you're not getting enough fluids.  You really have to suck it up and drink.

Like others have said...Go to the doctor (ER).  You could be dehydrated.  You also could have a stricture...Very treatable.  Get checked out.

I completely understand what your talking about. I'm 5 days post op and really regretting this.  I knew it would be hard but not this hard. My stomach feels empty which makes it not feel good to drink. I'm really sick of chicken broth. I just got beef broth but haven't tried that yet.  I just asked my husband if I could lick his dinner just for a different taste. I will say that walking around the neighborhood does help me feel better to get more liquids in. I've had to take the anti nausea meds though cause standing in the shower does not agree with me. We will get through this and be thankful we did it soon I'm sure.

Fluids how ever you can get them in...chicken broth, crystal light, ...it will make a difference. I had nausea and found peppermint tic tacs really helped...Would bite them and just let them melt in my mouth.

My girlfriend had nausea/dizziness right after her sleeve and it turned out she needed to reduce her BP meds. First they did 1/2 and it still wasn't enough, so they halved it again....

Contact your doctor/program ASAP.  It could be nothing but it could be something serious too.

My program says that the most common reason for re-hospitalization is dehydration, and your symptoms are consistent with dehydration. Dehydration is no joke - it's more than just not having "enough" fluids in your body; it messes up the concentration of electrolytes in your blood which can cause very serious problems.

If you are not drinking at least 40-60 fl oz of non-caffeinated liquids a day, you need to start doing that right away.  My program recommends adding Powerade Zero if dehydration is a possibility, as it adds electrolytes.

If plain water isn't palatable, try it at different temperatures, try it with a squirt of lemon or lime or unsweetened cherry juice, try approved teas at various temps, try Crystal Light, try broth, try soup.... You HAVE to get in liquids!

They may suggest Vitamin B1 supplements - they did that for me when I experienced constant nausea & inability to eat; they said B1 deficiency sometimes manifests as nausea and/or inability to eat (turns out that for me, was just a "slow loop" in my intestine that caused food, water, & pills to "hang up" within my esophagus).

Good luck and take good care of yourself, you deserve it!
