What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning. Kristen, I'm glad you survived the week. I know if must have been horrible. KQOTD - You really missed nothing from me. I'm trying to mentally and physically prepare for surgery. I have days were I spend my time suppressing the urge to run away, but then realize I can't run from my body. Then I have nights like last night where the acid was so bad I was curled up in a ball trying to get through the pain and I think to myself "can't I have surgery tomorrow?" Oh, and for those of you who have to drive as part of your job, I give you credit . . . don't know how you do it. I had to go down to San Diego on Friday. It's a 140 mile trip from my office. I left my office at 11 and got to San Diego at 4. Sat for 1.5 hours with a mediator and was released so I got back in the car and started the drive home (with a claims administrator riding shotgun) only to hit traffic when they closed 3 lanes of the highway. I got home at 11:30. As I was driving all I could think of was for the amount of time I spent in the car, I could be in Paris. Oh, and I got my dresses back from my friend, so I'm totally up for another dress/skirt week!
My food plan: I've gained a crap-ton (an actual measurement) of weight which is partially my fault (I'm still eating foods that I don't have trouble with that I may not be able to tolerate after surgery . . . can you say peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream?) and partially due to the acid . . . crackers are my friend and give me relief. I'm going to have to knock this crap off because I'm very, very unhappy with my numbers and I'm afraid I'm going to get a "talking to" at my pre-op on Wednesday. Today's another chance to make the right choices, right??

I think all of us can relate to the measurement that is crap-ton. I believe that was my starting weight, actually!
My GERD is a little better this week now that I'm on a regiment of Omeprazole and Gaviscon. It's not perfect but it's much better than it was last week. Maybe mine will just go away on its own?!?
