What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Good Morning from beautiful Martha's Vineyard! It really is so picturesque here. The ocean is sparkling and the flowers are blooming! I'm starting to think summer may come after all!
Yesterday was a decent enough day of eating--definitely not enough protein or water, and too carb-y for an average day, but the only really bad choice was a small piece of birthday cake, and I don't regret it! Well, I regretted it for about a half hour, when I felt super queasy, but generally, I don't regret it!
Funny story--I realized 1/2 way along our long walk yesterday that I forgot my Fitbit (which I seem to do a lot these days). Grim made fun of me mercilessly because he knows I'm competitive and hate not "proving" that I got my steps. He reached for his and realized he'd forgotten his too. KARMA. Ha.
This morning we will walk into town for coffee and breakfast. Not sure what we'll find. Same goes for lunch and dinner. We were kind of surprised to see that there are a million places to get pizza and ice team but not too many sit-down restaurants (who serve meat!). Of course I brought a huge bag full of protein forward snacks and Grim has a million Quest bars, so we're good even if we can't find anything.
Hope you all have an amazing day!

It looks beautiful there. I can not imagine it being cool this time of year, I just walked out to check the current pool/vacuuming situation and the humidity and heat took my breath! ( well it was either the heat or the fact that I tripped and busted my butt climbing up the stairs ) I'm not sure what I'll be eating today for breakfast bc I boiled some eggs for me to eat for this coming week and realized they make me very sick, so..... I'm off to the store for some foods I know work....
Breakfast unknown
lunch turkey cream cheese and pickle roll up
dinner sirloin steak and spinach ( if I have room left )
Snack peanut butter spoon
possible protein shake if needed after I put everything in fitness pal

Good morning! Your weekend birthday celebration sounds like it's off to a great start!
The forecast here was for severe thunderstorms, but they seem to have veered off in another direction, so this is a bonus fairweather Saturday. Right now I'm sipping coffee while basking in a pool of sunshine - a leisurely way to start the day.

I was able to find an outfit that fits for next week's reception in Toronto, so no last-minute shopping is required. My budget is happy about that!

Quest bars - they caused a lot of RH for me... I had a hard time to believe that either. Major Low BS.
After I realized that - I only used them to bring my BS up if I was crashing.
They caused a lot of troubles for me.

"Failure is not falling down, It is not getting up once you fell... So pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again...."
Well, I forgot to bring it with me anyway... I don't really like Quest bars, but had bought a few, because they don't melt now that the weather is getting warmer.
Funny the Veterans event I went to was a wellness day and events. So there was a table there from a local hospital on diabetes, with an RN there...so I was talking to her. They had one little page on hypoglycemia... she didn't know RH. I didn't want to get into the whole story of the surgery etc... She gave me a container of glucose tablets to take if blood sugar drops, and then she said once it is up to eat peanut butter or protein and fat to keep it from crashing again... Don't know that that is good for us unless it really bottomed out... She suggested taking blood sugar when it happens ....and buy glucose meter she said it comes with 10 sticks for like $20.
If you ever wanted to post a days menu, and timing... I would love the visual, I think my normal routine is probably good, it just seems to be when I do something out of my routine it throws things off...

Enjoy the vineyard!! I'll likely be in Boston for July 4th weekend-- maybe we can meet?
Once when I had the fit bit that clips to your bra- I was on the treadmill at the gym and suddenly stopped and clutched my chest, realizing I'd forgotten my fit bit. Apparently it looked to other like I was having a heart attack. Glad they were so concerned.
I'm at work now- I've got my workout clothes on though and plan to run along the river as soon as I leave here. After that home to shower and dress- then get a pedicure and return some stuff I bought. Hubby & Kids should be back in town by tonight.
