I DO feel younger this year than last year, thanks to being 55 lbs. lighter and on the way to becoming even thinner!  YAY!

Good morning and happy Wednesday.  CQOTD - I don't have a single June plan.  Since my revision surgery is set for 7/1, I have a bunch of Dr. appointments I need to get through and then I need to stockpile as many billable hours at work as possible, so I don't catch a bunch of grief for taking time off after surgery.  After my VSG I took 2 weeks off.  I don't think I'm going to be able to swing that here.  This firm is much more about the billable hour.  It scares me a bit, since I don't know how my recovery will be.  I was fine going back after 2 weeks with my first surgery since by that time, I was able to get my fluid in and was on purees so food was easier.  I think this is a more involved surgery and I don't think my surgeon will be too excited with my plan to take 5 days off.  Anyway, that's my long way of saying I have no June plans.

Here's my plan:

B: Turkey, cheese and pesto; homemade latte with 4 oz fairlife milk

L: Don't know.  I had planned to have leftover NY Strip with blue cheese crumbles but when I got to work I saw I had the blue cheese crumbles but not the meat.  Blue cheese crumbles do not a meal make, so I have to go out and get something.  Probably chicken breast and broccoli

D: Chicken thigh and asian slaw (doesn't sound as exciting given my lunch choice)

S: Dannon salted caramel; 1 oz turkey and string cheese (or laughing cow)

I'm not including totals since so much of my menu is up in the air.  Going to assume that calories will be between 1000-1100 and protein will be over 100g

I have an idea you'll be just fine to go back to work after taking 5 days off. You've got 2 weekends in there so you'll have 9 full days post surgery to recover.  I felt way better than I thought I was going to after my revision.

I found it to be way less painful so by the time was discharged, I was completely off any pain medications.

I'm counting down the days with you!

Thank you!!!  I like hearing that!  I know when he took out my gallbladder 8 months after my VSG my recovery was easy!  I guess its just working through the food stages again and the fact that unlike with my first surgery, my body doesn't have a lot of excess fat it can feed off of.  I'm anticipating being more tired!  I really need to get out of my head and stop thinking of worst case scenarios.  I wish this surgery was tomorrow actually, just to get it over with!

Good morning menu peeps.  It's a nice, mild morning here in Portland.  The rain is supposed to move in today, but that is okay.  At least I won't have to spend my evenings watering for a few days.

Love the skirt and converse tennies, Cynthia.  I am so happy that denim skirts and dresses have made a come back.  They are so cute and easy to wear.

QOTD:  I don't have any big plans for June.  I have some friends visiting from MN this weekend, so I am having a party at my house on Friday so they can see all of their Portland friends.  Father's Day I am walking in the Pride Parade as part of the Kaiser contingent.  We always have a big presence in the parade in support of our LBGT employees and patients.  It's a lot of fun, and I've done it a couple of times.  Then it is off to my Dad's house for the day.  July 1st I have Dianna Ross tickets.  Yay!

Pictures below are of the dress I am wearing today.  A wrap dress is always a tricky thing.  I am hoping it doesn't burst open and I flash some poor, unsuspecting person.  The second is of my snack today.  I'm posting it because of the great containers I found at IKEA.  It is the perfect size.  It holds 3-4 oz. of protein, which is just right.

Time Since Surgery:  18 months

B:  Egg Beaters, mozzarella and cheese omelette

S:  Ellenos Greek Yogurt - Raspberry Ginger

L:  4 ox chicken breast, green beans with bacon

S: 2-1/2 oz beef kabob, roasted peppers

D:  4 oz prawns, sauteed with garlic and shallots

Totals:  Calories 715, Carbs 19 (!), Protein 89

Have a great day!
