Beach trip tomorrow
Good morning y'all . I'm headed to the beach tomorrow for a few days. I'm 5 weeks out and on a regular diet now. I can tolerate anything so far. I want to see if maybe I could get some tips on portable foods for this stage. I know there will be some snacking , we are driving 6 hours and taking a deep sea fishing trip for 8 . I know I'll be fine with restaurants as I can order baked or grilled fish . Just curious ..... What do you throw in your beach/travel bag?

I would get an insulated lunch bag or something..even if you don't have a cold pack to put in it, it keeps things from warming up so fast.
Tuna pouches are my newly discovered -take it on the road- meal. I eat it right out of the pouch. Buy the flavored ones though- they have flavoring added so they are moister. I like the Garlic and herb...to me doesn't taste garlicy. There is a spicy one, while good might be too spicy at 5 weeks out. The ranch, while good, I thought was drier. Just bring a fork.
Hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks, protein bars. At this early out, I would put the protein bar in a sandwich bag, as you won't finish the whole thing and they are too expensive to waste. My 2 favorites are Power Crunch and GNC Lean Bars. It is about the texture. Quest are too gummy for me.
Greek yogurt- they are fermented, so even though dairy aren't going to go bad fast. The triple zero one, in the black container has 15g of protein in the little tub, more than others...
Jerky- but needs to be on tender side - go with Krave brand or Perky Jerky (which is Turkey - I buy at Walmart)...
That's all I got for 5 weeks out. :) Have fun!

I would not have been able to go to the beach at 5 weeks out.
I think fluids should be a major concern. Easy for anybody to not get enough to drink on the beach but double so for you since you are such newly post op. Bring your own drinks on that boat. Many times at places like that it will be alcohol or sugary drinks.
Have fun.
Thank you . I definatley will. I've got my favorite bottle and checked the boat information , they sell bottles of water. I've gotten some great travel/ protein /snack ideas packed and my vitamins. Oh, and there is seating everywhere and an air conditioner galley room . I'm very much going to focus on relaxing
