What is on your Saturday Menu RNYers?
Welcome to the Weekend edition! JB asked me to do the Honoirs this weekend as she and Grim spend time with his family celebrating the life of Mama Grim. We are thinking about you Grim and JB!
I had no pic for Photo Friday, but thought I'd post this one. I got my haircut yesterday, and that is always a good day for a photo. I actually made sure I went for the photo for my driver's License directly from the hairdressers...LOL. I was kinda mad I had to go so soon... but when I posted those wedding photos a couple of weeks ago, the woman who flat-ironed my hair destroyed and totally burnt the ends...and I had so much breakage....Boo...
QOTD: Summer is my season...love, love, love it. Just love the relaxed time, swimming, lots of friends and entertaining. Funny, it is so beautiful on Long Island in the summer, I never want to go on vacation then. Give me a January or February vacation any day. But June/July/August...I am happy to be home. :) I love living where there are seasons.... but wouldn't mind being a snow bird for 2 months of the year. So what is your favorite season?
B: Tea, BBQ CHicken

Great picture, Cynthia! I love your new haircut!
Special thoughts to Grim & JB this weekend. You guys are in our thought and prayers.
QOTD: Summer is my favorite season with Spring being a close second.
Yesterday I ate: a Protein shake, muscletech misson 1 protein bar, chicken w/ dressing & gravy, cottage cheese and a power bar protein bar. Today will probably be somewhat similar.
Exercise: We plan to take the dogs for a walk. Didn't go yesterday because I wasn't feeling very well, so I want to make sure and take them for a walk tonight.
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Chicken and gravy is such a comfort food for me. Mashed cauliflower works these days for the mashed... Costco chicken and jarred gravy work too....
I was looking at your menu, and how far you are out...and was surprised your pouch handles the protein bars so well at this point. I remember I always carried the bars in a sandwich bag, because I could only take a small piece a day and didn't want to waste them...
The only thing with it being warm now is no keeping a stash of bars in the car- the other day I opened one up and the chocolate coating was melted all over. What a mess...doesn't make fir easy driving..

It always amazes me what we can handle varies so much person to person. I couldn't eat tuna for 6 months, got stuck in my throat everytime... Still almost 2 years out can't really enjoy cold cuts... get jealous of people with all their turkey cheese roll-ups on their menus- so easy. Physically I can eat them, but it never feels good.
Keep working on the dense protein, you are still early so it will come. I found what I could handle changed after 3 months, then 6months then a year. Chew well and keep it moist... best advice. Oh and don't reheat in the microwave!

Is Whey Protein Isolate listed as another name on the ingredients list? I'm having trouble finding it listed on protein powder/shakes. Thanks
Whey Protein Isolate is an ingredient not a brand. I had posted the other day about how I needed to make a point to use 100% Whey Protein Isolate as it is the best quality protein for us in terms of absorption. It is also lactose free.
Some brands include: Inspire from bariatriceating.com
Jay Robb, Bodylogix, Syntrax
Always check the label some brands not all their powders are 100%... Some are some aren't.

Thanks for starting us off Cynthia! I really appreciate having this post on the weekend as it keeps me in line and accountable. Even if my plans change I still feel more in control. Last night's supper did change but it was delish! We went to Schnucks to pay a power bill and the seafood department had seafood stuffed portobello mushrooms! OMG! I got a second one for lunch today. Post op 45 months and weight at 120.2 today. Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in already even though we did get wet. It is a cloudy off and on rain today so hubby stayed home from the cowboy shoot as he doesn't like to get his guns wet. Today will be spent vacuuming the camper and packing it with clothes and frozen food to go out Sunday afternoon. I will be MIA until Wednesday as we'lol be at the nearby state park camping. I will also do 30 minutes on the bike sometime today and tomorrow through Wednesday will be extra miles spent walking with Lily. We usually do two 3 mile walks each day unless it rains! Here's the food for the day B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L seafood stuffed portobello aND a few green beans D 31/2 oz ribeye 1/2 c green beans aND mushrooms S Pure protein protein bar. Can't wait til I use these up as the mission 1s are so much better. These things taste like cardboard probably does! Thoughts and prayers are with JB,Grim and his family as they celebrate his mother'S life and memory. Losing parents is so hard. There are still times when I just wish my mom could see things and she's been gone 6 years. At least I was able to have my surgery, lose my weight and get a healthy life so my boys don't have to lose me early. My parents health issues are a motivating factor for me to stay on track each and every day. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices!
Portobello Mushroom with crabmeat stuffing sounds divine....
My Mom is gone 35 years. Wow...I can't believe it is that long. Having my grandson I think is what really made me move forward with WLS. My Mom didn't meet any of her grandchildren... I want to meet all of mine. Want to be there at their graduations and weddings too!

I love the pic NYMom! You know I'm going to be in Long Island in a few weeks for my nieces graduation party, if it can work I'd love to meet.
Ive been to the gym, and am at WW with hubby. No plans for today. I will be returning a totally expensive impulse buy at Victoria Secret. It's my birthday this month and I've been sent coupons from VS, Kohl's and Macy's, so I'm gonna make sure I use those:-)
QOTD favorite season, probably fall. We Still get some benefits of the warmth of summer, but it's not overly hot. I love the color of trees changing. And that crisp fall smell.
i attached a pic of a dress I got dirt cheap at Kohl's-- size large. I got SIO many compliments when I wore it.
