Newbie here! RNY next week, June 8
Greetings, all!
I am new here, and up to now have just been perusing all the helpful entries. There is so much experience and wisdom represented on this site - it is such a great resource!
My RNY is scheduled for June 8, 2016 - just 6 days away. I am excited and just a bit nervous, though I have confidence in my surgeon and the support of my family.
Just wanted to say hello and to thank you all for sharing your experiences so openly.

Welcome! Yes, there is lots of good info here! Best of luck on your journey. It is an awesome one, and you will do nothing but feel better with each and every day after your surgery! My RNY was 3/15/16, and I have lost over 60 lbs! I can't tell you the change it has made in my life. It is the little things like climbing stairs with out losing my breath, bending over to pick something up (that tummy really got in the way!), lacing my shoes! It is all so much easier now. I still have a good ways to go, but you are headed in the right direction. I don't regret it for a second! Don't be nervous! You are headed in the right direction to better health!

Glad to have you join us here. Feel free to ask questions or share any concerns you may have. Lots of great people here in different places in their journeys. I had RNY done nearly 4 years ago and have had zero complications. My weight went from a high of 272 to my current weight of 120 in less than 9 months. I have been that same weight ever since. I still weigh and measure my food when I eat at home and track using my fitness pal everyday. I no longer have diabetes, high cholesterol,or high triglycerides and my blood pressure is normal on one low dose pill. I feel like a different person and have so much fun with life now. I didn't realize how much I was missing out on by sitting on the sidelines because of my weight. You will do amazing if you do as your doctor asks and follow the rules he gives you. Get ready for an amazing journey!
Hi!
Good luck on your surgery! I too am rather new, I celebrated my one month post op today! and I have to say I have absolutely no regrets....the first two weeks were sorta difficult I suppose just trying to figure out how to eat again. Then I found this site you are correct, there is so much knowledge and support here, even if it just means reading every ones posts about what food they ate! I have learned so much and am so thankful for all the people here
