What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Morning AV. This is my 20,447th consecutive day without wearing a skirt.
My favorite fruit is an apple, but it has to be a Mac. My least favorite is everything else.
I'm sitting at the airport waiting to pick up my sister and nephews. Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
I like apples, too, but I prefer the honeycrisp. There is nothing grosser than a mealy apple. blech
Honeycrisp Apples are AMAZING! The best apples I ever had were in Israel. We stayed on a kibbutz on an apple orchard. We would go for long walks and pick and eat as we were walking. They were Gala apples which I typically don't like but these were delish. Crunchy and juicy with no mealy texture. Yum

Haha, I picked carrots at a kibbutz. You totally got a better deal.

OMG love Ovaltine...partial to the Chocolate Malted flavor.
QOTD: Favorite: any kind of berry, Least: Pomegranate? Just because it is so damn messy...never fell in love with it.
Update to my crazy drive-by yesterday... Still learning lessons at almost 2 years out:
1. Don't go 2 hours upon waking without eating or drinking anything.... I bought tea and hard boiled eggs, cheese and yogurt at 7-11 leaving the hotel, but he was only 5 minutes from the Hotel, so I only took a few sips. Figured I'd eat food after, I normally don't eat right away in AM....But I would have already drank a quart of fluids (with some calories)...in water, pre-workout drink or coffee/tea within the 2 hours.
2. Pay attention, when you are not in your normal routine. See 1 above.
3. Was Totally nailed on the Magnesium and Calcium.--I've been having abdominal muscle tightness- felt like I was going backwards instead of forwards- He's like how are your calcium and Magnesium?? Can't let things slide. I had run out of Magnesium right around the surgery time, and just never went and bought more. When I noticed my ankles/legs getting swollen the weekend of the wedding.... and was wracking my brain... remembered the magnesium and ran out to buy... then yesterday, as I was pulling my vitamins for the trip I realized I had totally not been taking my calcium since the surgery.... maybe need potassium too...
4. Protein...Surgeon wants 100g a day.... When I try and up my protein I rely heavily on Premier Protein Drinks. Ready-to-Drink, easy but not 100% Whey Isolate, which is the best absorbed. 1st surgery, when I had the spots on the suture line not healing...He said...- Make sure you are getting your protein in....lightbulb moment....rather than the Premier I started adding unflavored and drinking whey isolate, and within a week those spots closed....SO yesterday, same thing- Have some open spots- Are you getting your protein in? Another lightbulb moment- relying on Premier too much again. Even if I am counting my 100g- it has to be quality 100g and I usually need more than average... even taking in the WLS standard of 60-80g I came up low protein on my blood work....so I always need to go higher... Again No room to slide..
5. When I am embarrassed/feeling stupid I laugh a lot....while choking down cheese PB crackers...
B: Tea, Whey Protein Isolate Shake :) TBD
S: Tuna pouch, carrots - Going to sit at beach
L: Salami and cheese roll up
S: Greek Yogurt
D: Steak, spinach
E: Borrowed my girlfriend's cize video and am going to try it - dancing.

Great lessons, thanks for sharing. I realize that I usually eat a lot less than what I post, because I get full or bored with food and skip a meal (usually dinner). I stopped going back in to ammend my totals in MFP, so I actually don't really know what my protein levels are for real anymore...

With all my surgery, figured need to lay off the weights./ab exercises for now.. not cleared for any upper body for 2 weeks...so this is more cardio. Just finished it, it was good....
