Good morning everyone! I apologize for being MIA, but I haven't been feeling well and went back to the doctor last week. He think I may have an ulcer and put me on protonixs and another medication to coat my pouch and esophagus. Also cut my blood pressure med's way back....their cardiologist and my PCP had added a second med and double my other med....which is now wayyyy to much. BP was way down and I was always feeling like I was going to pass out especially when I bent down. 

Now I seem to be in that 3rd / 4th week stall. Hasn't moved in a week but I am just ignoring the scale and just keep to plan and am getting more active now I am feeling better.

QOTD: I can somewhat doggie paddle in our pool but if you got me out in a very large body of water, panic would set in and I would probably drown. Definitely afraid of water...but love to lounge by the water! 

B: 1 oz hash with 1 oz cheese

L: 1 oz turkey and 1 oz cheese

D: not sure yet but what ever it is it is protein

I haven't been able to eat chicken at all...couple of bites and I get ill....hope that changes in the future because I love chicken!

 

Forgot to add: I don't use Facebook for a lot of personal reasons.

"somewhat doggie paddle..." you have no idea how hard that made me laugh. It's tough to fathom there could be a downside to losing over 200 pounds like I did but there is one; the northern Minnesota lakes are now too cold for me to swim in without built-in insulation to keep me warm and built-in floaties to keep me above water.  Shivering and sinking make swimming more of a chore than fun.  Glad you are better and thanks again for the laugh.

Hi all,

Feeling a little discouraged about my Pureed diet. (See my Pureed/soft food post.) I'm scared that I'm already failing at this.

I'm taking my girls to the dentist today and don't have many other plans. Yesterday I took 2 20 minute walks. I haven't been able to walk in so long because of hip pain, but found that if I take it slow at the start my hip doesn't bother me. 

Qotd: love love love to swim! I made sure all of my kids (4) knew how to swim at an early age. I wanted to hang out at the pool with my girlfriends and not have to worry about my kids' safety.

Food: not sure yet. I'm trying to do low carb/high protein and Pureed. Not sure how to do this.

Don't get discouraged!  Listen, I'm by no means a veteran, but I remember trying to navigate in the "early out" days.  The learning curve is steep, fo sho.  That being said, my surgeon's instructions did not include a pureed phase.  It's funny how everyone's plan progression is so different.

I feel your pain because I am also on the purée stage...2 weeks in with 2 more weeks to go. I have been eating mostly scrambled eggs, tuna fish, chopped turkey, salmon and haddock...melted cheese on everything. I can't eat chicken....tried it twice and instantly got sick. I also still do protein shakes when necessary.

Good morning! This has been an insane week.  I am really looking forward to life calming a bit. Maybe next week. Meanwhile I am doing well. CAMAW tried to kill me.  Leg cramps were miserable.  Once I threw in the towel and ate some fruit and carbs I was all better.  Saturday morning coffee with cream was divine. 

QOTD: Swimming is like walking.  I can't remember a time when I didn't know how to swim. I lived in Puerto Rico from age 3-6 and again age 11-14. Miami from 14-18. Lots of beach and sailing. Always water. The ocean or a pool...home away from home. Lakes?? Kinda creepy but they will work in a pinch. 

B: Greek yogurt

L: Greek yogurt and grapes/blueberries

S: Cheese stick

D: Cabbage hamburger soup

Cal: 617, Protein: 50, Carb: 66, Fat 14

Hmmm... looks like I need more protein... will add something, not sure what.
