You are doing awesome!  I'm 7 weeks post op and down 19 lbs.  Just keep doing what you're doing - minus the husband annoying....LOL

That sounds real good and I hope I have the same kind of results. You had amazing weight loss from your starting weight to your surgery date. I am scheduled for 6/27/16 and can't wait to get started.

We are only one day apart and I feel the same, like I'm Sri I got my husband insane about it all. I try to stop myself from talking about it to him . He listens and encourages but I know it's all I ever talk to him about. Also I have lost 12 and am also right on my post op planner and still disappointed. My logical side sees that I'm not failing but I'm still disappointed. I'm sorry your feeling this way to . I'm glad you put it out there. Just wanted to assure you that your not alone

Yes, I'm almost 6 months out and my DH sometimes will say- all you ever talk about is your weight or food. I try to be mindful of this before I have verbal diarrhea around him about these topics. I also find many many other topics to talk to him about :)

It is hard- I also try to limit my weight loss conversations with friends and family unless they ask. If you don't you may turn into 'she is annoying because all she talks about is how skinny she is" person (even though that is not what you are saying- it can be perceived as that)

We had someone about 5 months ago speak at my support group. He said a few things that I thought were really valid- One was to build your network within the weight loss community so you have support outside your family unit. The second was that you are more than just a weight loss surgery person. You have other facets to your personality, talents, etc and those are the things that need to shine, not the fact you had WL surgery.

just a few thoughts...

I think you have expressed how 99% of us felt. My poor hubby...I was obsessed with my weight. 10 times a day many many days. Come here, we understand

You are doing fantastic with the weight loss, and  have a challenge for you.  If you are not happy with 16 pound loss in a month, what will happen when you get close to goal and you are only losing maybe 5-8 pounds a month?   Are you going to get on the scale 50 times a day and wonder why it's not going down faster???   NO, of course not.  Because you are going to start changing the focus from food and weight to living a more healthy life,  so that when you get to goal weight, you have already transitioned to a goal of "Having a healthy and happy relationship with food and your body."

I don't think it's a matter of your venting or being needy, as you postulate, but that you are having mental growing pains and you are getting ready to make the shift from weight to health, (which, of course, weight is a component but only a component).  IMHO, whether you know it or not, you have already started on working through the 'head issues.'  Hang in there as you formulate a new, healthier lifestyle with hubby.

I think we all have those feelings of- I'm not losing enough, I'm failing because of it. See my stats on my sig line. I was sad and depressed a bit 4 weeks out and still will get the blues when I don't think I have lost enough. Like I'm a surgery failure.

But we aren't.

16 pounds is a lot to lose in a month.

I'm teetering between a size 10-12 now- Have I EVER in my life been able to say this? NO! The surgery is working is magic along with my on plan eating and it will for you too!

Keep plugging away!

If you get to a stall that lasts longer then 3 weeks though I would recheck your food.

I am a "slow loser" according to my dr office and to the calculator on this site.  I am doing the right things so I know it will just take a little longer than I had hoped, but it is VERY FRUSTRATING, so I know how you feel - best of luck to you!

Chassibi- i swear i wrote the EXACT same post, at some point. OR i just pictured it in my mind  b/c i was obsessing about being a slow loser. analyzing and analyzing and rationalizing why i wasnt one of the people who lose 100 in 6 months! THEY did the  OPERATION WRONG~ i swear it! ...

I spent time with my therapist talking about it. She kept stopping me when i would say "although  i've only lost 19lbs" (at that time) she woudl stop and say, Shauna- you have lost 19lbs. When was the last time you lost 19 lbs.  Its okay that its slower. Your body is adjusting. This is the long  term.  This has to be sustainable for me. I travel a ton for work. I think it slows me down- i keep my water up, but not enough, and i cant control all the calories in my food, i cant weigh, i have to eyeball everything and guess what  ? i am still losing.  Not that i would know b/c i stopped weighing. I never believed people on here when they said dont weigh. But when i made the decision to stop the 5 times daily weighing. (dont laugh, middle of the night, after peeing, then upon awakening after emptying bladder, then after coffee,  (whilst praying for a BM) then after the shower and before beed. Do you know i would fluctuate 2-4  lbs at any given time.

So i stopped weighing.  I just wrote a blog post about it and other NSV. Your before and during pic make it obvious that you are really doing amazing.

right here with you sister. at xxx lbs and counting. xxx b/c i hvae no idea. but i am out of my 18/20 and into 16s that are now loose and wearing tops that  are L not xxl. All of those are indicators of success.  As  is your fab photo.
