Eating to much to have a new pouch ??
Thank you. No you didn't repeat. That's good advice. I definatley won't be trying the chili again, maybe ever. I'm finding myself a little confused at what I can eat with rny that was absolutely not tolerated well with my band, shrimp... I'm gonna try it. It would have never gone down with band. I think that's been part of the problem, I can eat so much better than with my band. I don't have the experience that a lot of people are having with being satisfied with a piece of deli meat and cheese . It just does not fill me up.

From the band to RYN folks I have talked to - just forget how your body reacted to the band. That is how much different the 2 surgeries are. This is a whole new world - which is a good thing because the RNY offers much better long term chances of success!!!
Remember many people will not have the feeling of being full for 1-2 months, maybe 3 months until those electric signals find their way from your new stomach to your old brain. Just eat the recommnded amount at first, wait 60 min and drink. Your feeling of fullness may also change - a hiccup, a little pressure, but you will prob not feel the old feeling of fullness for a little while yet - it depends on how you surgeon cut certain nerves, I think.

I haven't heard that yet. That is good to know.

I am 3 1/2 months out and like you I have no problem eating. I hear people talk about how they struggle to get a few ounces down and it makes me wonder if they have smaller pouches. I measure my food and I don't overeat, but for the last month and a half my weight loss has slowed way down. It makes me wonder if my pouch isn't small enough and is allowing me to eat more than I should at this stage in my journey. I can also eat anything. I have not dumped or thrown up since I had surgery. The only issue I've had is terrible constipation. I was told not to worry about calories initially and to focus on my protein, however I think I'm going to have to start restricting calories to get me over this plateau.

Your farther along than me so I can't advise on calories or anything . I'm glad that I'm not alone though. Just wanted to say that I had a constipation problem too and was adviced ( thank God ) to put a capful of miralax in one bottle of water it is totally tasteless I promise and has no texture . It works .... Well like a miracle lol

As of now....I am drinking benefiber in water twice a day, taking 3 stool softeners a day and a probiotic. I still end up having to drink milk of magnesia every few days to go. I was really hoping to try and get regular without regular use of laxatives but I give up! I'm going to try the miralax! Thank you! :)

So glad I found this thread!!
I so try not to compare meals, amounts, etc., but I see people barely being able to choke down 1.5 oz of something soft and I can eat 4 oz of steak, chicken, you name it. The only thing I don't tolerate is pork rinds.
I had a band, but it was out 3 years before my bypass in September. I'm not sure where I fit in. Am I a revision or a new bypass, or somewhere in between??
It's a struggle, I feel hungry and I have since about two weeks out. Even if I'm completely distracted, I feel the sensation but no growl like in the past. It goes away when I eat but comes back within an hour or so. I drink fluids only after 30 min. and keep drinking to try to keep the hunger at bay.
It's good to know I'm not alone!
