Eating to much to have a new pouch ??
Haha ....I know nobody has been mean.....I was just kinda putting that out there because I was really needing advice on how my medical team seems to differ so much from others and of course I want to succeed. keep in mind I just went up to 1000 a couple of days ago after I suddenly started feeling I wasn't getting enough food . I may try to add snacks and make lower calorie choices so that I can eat more often .
I always appreciate everyone's advice and experience that I clearly don't have yet at only 4 weeks out

you don't need a
lot of food for nutrition as long as you have fat stored to turn into energy.
burning stored fat is what causes weight loss. If you eat 1000 Val's your body had plenty to burn and you won't lose what is stored.
I think your loss could be much better on 800 calories
Ok . Thank you !

steak can be very hard along with uncooked veggies until 6 months out= my program had me steer away from it until now.
I found early out I ate a lot of tunafish, tilapia, salmon, shrimp because the calories were low and tons of protein.
My place recommends 6 tiny meals a day so your brain doesn't think you are hungry. He told me long term patients that do the best eat every 3-4 hours. I generally follow this practice though sometimes I don't get 3 snacks in.
Oh forgot to mention- my meat serving size is 3 oz
Dense protein will keep you full longer. Every one will be different in what agrees with them. For me, Beef agreed with me from the beginning. Chicken was much more difficult, thighs only... Cold cuts of any kind are still iffy at almost 2 years out. Occasionally Ham or salami work... I think ham because it is moist and salami because it has more fat...tuna I couldn't stomach until 6+ months...but I could eat chicken salad. go figure.
I was told I could eat up to 5-6 times a day. Better to be used to eating less at one sitting. Early out I fluctuated between 550-750 calories. I realize you are a revision, but 800 calories sounds like a more reasonable number for weight loss.

Thank you ! I didn't find it hard to eat the steaks . It was great and kept me full. I used to love tuna but I just can not even think about it all of a sudden with out getting goose bumps yuck .

Hey Sheriberi, I can not answer your question but I just wanted to say that I too was banded in 6/19/2009 and the band is not working for me and I am fixing to have revision to RNY mid July. I was reading your blog and thought it is awesome to know that their is someone who is going through the same thing I am. I really hope RNY is a success for you.
Thank you. I'm here if you need a friend or any help with what I can. Good luck on your new journey. Where are you in your process ?

I did not count calories, but I counted protein. Get protein in first - 60 to 80 gms. (I was prob 600-800 per day while I was losing.) I ate very simple foods - no chili early, lots of people like it awhile after surgery, but I would not even be trying in yet, and not again since it gave you trouble. I did well on seafood - poached flounder, crab, shrimp.
Just check that you are getting enough prot (I did not read all the responses, sorry if I am repeating advice)
