Eating to much to have a new pouch ??
Please don't be mean here lol I'm asking for advice here.
I am confused by conflicting advice from what I read here from veterans and nutritionist and dr advice. They both say that I have to get a minimum of 1000 calories now. I see a lot of posters that struggle to get to 800 when they post their menus.
Im 4 weeks out and have no problem getting in close to 1000. My day usually consists of 4 pieces of crunchy bacon, 3 ounces of chicken and cheese melted on top for lunch and supper is 3.5 ounces of fish or steak cooked medium rare with green vegetable. It adds up to over 900 calories, 5 carbs and 50 fat grams And I do not eat until I feel full or stuffed ....I take my time and eat until I'm not empty. Do people have that much of a difference in pouch sizes? Or are there times that it just takes more to fill it up? Could it be that I'm so used to having a problem band choking me when I eat that I'm waiting on pain to feel done?
I know some are still just on Puree foods now but I've been allowed to chew since week 3 and had no trouble.
The only problem I ever had was getting sick on chili and nauseated from tuna every time I tried it .
My dr said what I'm eating is a good amount and just continue eating until I'm not empty, no snacking between meals , and no " white trash " flour, rice, pasta, sweets Ect

This happens to former banister. After revision you can sometimes eat MORE than before.
Calories count. The fewer you eat, the faster you will reach goal. If it were me, I would keep calories between 600 to 800 for as long as I could. Get rid of the weight as fast as you can, and increase calories down the line. It will never, ever be as easy to eat 6-800 as it is right now.
Maybe skip the melted cheese at lunch? Could be a lot of calories, and not much nutrition.

A lot of people maintain on 1000-1200. I did not go over 900 when I was in the losing phase. I was determined to get to goal and this worked for me.
I have heard of a lot of lapbanders who have revised who can eat a lot more after revision surgery.
How much have you lost since surgery? How much more do you want to lose? If 1000 calories works for you, I guess I would not worry about it.

I began at 198 the morning of surgery. I'm 4 weeks out and 185. I have 60 lbs to go to get to goal of 125. I'm 5'2. The lowest I got down with band was 142. Definitely do not want to fail at this and want to start off right. I'm going to try dropping calories today.

Oh my goodness . We are only 1 day apart, 1 inch part and 1 lb apart lol this is to cool. Well how are you eating ? I'm hoping my pouch isn't to big lol. My lowest was 142 with band but my dr said I could go to 125 with rny. I haven't been that since 5 grade so I don't know about that . But I hope to get close

Looking back at your old posts, a few days ago you posted your doctor said 800 calories. Today you said 1000. Did you have an appointment since then? 800 to 1000 is a big jump. Personally, I agree with Grim and would stick to 800.
