What's on your Sunday menu, RNYers?
Morning JB- so glad your days was great yesterday. Mine was a little boring, just usual stuff.
Im up and have been out for my run and am already at my fourth load of laundry. We'll be grilling later on today-- I'd like nothing more than just to graze like a sheep in pasture for the rest of the day. But I won't, I've got my protein based menu in order, my splurge today will be coleslaw. My left shoulder is hurting today, I'm gonna take a break from weights for a few days.
Qotd: this may sound silly-- but my brave thing is facing the world each day and a partially bald women. The looks you get vary so much...pity, disgust, support. Then there are those who like to tell me how I can fix it (like I hadn't tried everything yet.) Or those who assume I have cancer and jump right into their cancer survival tales. It really is a feat to deal with the shallow-minded & vain.

It doesn't sound silly at all. I think all of us can relate to having people look at us differently because of our appearance. Sorry that people are so shallow sometimes. I think you are beautiful :)
Hello RNYers,
Qotd: today it feels like having RNY was the bravest thing I did. I'm not feeling very encouraged today. I ended up eating around 1000 calories yesterday, which is a lot more than I have been and my stupid scale went up a pound. It seems like I shouldn't be having these problems at two weeks out. I think the main issue is I am having trouble getting enough protein in on puréed foods. I end up eating more slider foods and then I'm hungry later. I am gagging at the very thought of puréed chicken, tuna or eggs. Sounds yuck. So I've been eating ricotta and cottage cheese and retried beans, etc. Any advice or encouragement is welcome.
Today I'm off to mass and then home to put chicken in the crockpot for my family's dinner. I'm going to stay in bed most of the day and watch Netflix. I am not a tv person, haven'****ched in years, but right now can't get into any books.
Have a great day everyone!

BE NOT AFRAID JPII
I ate Gerber baby food meats the first month. It sounded yuck but a few teaspoons warmed with a puréed cauliflower tsp or green bean purée or retried bean. I chose turkey or beef baby food. Really - the thought seemed gross but warming made it fine and easy on the healing insides. You might try it. I didn't try tuna or chicken for at least a month. Scrambled eggs were a roll of the dice but I kept trying and they became easier. I was also exhausted. You went back to work fast. Be kind to yourself!
Morning JB! I'm somewhere over New Mexico, headed your way. Look out!
I guess I'm having airline snacks to eat today. Whatever the heck they are. I'm going to be mighty hungry by tonight.

I think today still counts as vacation...so there might be a little Nutella in your future? But just today!

Good Morning! Glad you're feeling better. So happy Grim is headed home soon! I'm exhausted today, I'm pretty sure it's my body relaxing after the busy travel week so I'm glad we don't have too much to do today. I did get to the gym this morning but only ran for a 1/2 hour (little under 3 miles) and then walked for a bit on the treadmill(hate when I have to stop for a potty break and then I just couldn't back to running after that since my tummy didn't want to cooperate). Anyhow, we want and wondered through "glorious junk days" which is in Old Town Clovis. Many of the antique stores have booths in the street as well as other vendors. We didn't find much this time (Em got a tye-died tank top from one of the vendors and hubby got a Reno silver socks mini bat (I'm telling you he collects just about anything baseball!)
QOTD: Probably would have to be when I left my ex-husband and moves back to California (we lived in Washington at the time). I got married when I was 17 1/2....so many stories there!
Menu will include a latte, egg beaters, bacon and cheese for breakfast, a turkey and Swiss sandwich(using cloud bread) with a small salad for lunch, yogurt, pork rinds and jerky for a snack and I'm thinking a burger patty for dinner. Exercise: about 4 1/2 miles on the treadmill between my run/walk- already at my 10,000 steps after walking around junk days. Water and vits are on track.
Hope everyone has a great day. I will prob finish the book I'm reading and take a nap :)
