Is it inevitable that I will vomit after having RNY
I have a few times, and it's nothing like vomiting before surgery. It's actually a relief. I still have a hard time with chicken or pork. I ignored the signals, or ate too fast. I was dreading it, but now I watch what I am doing more carefully. It does teach you to eat slower and less. That's what it's there for. I had my surgery February 16th and today I am down 80 pounds. I feel amazing. You will do great, and be so happy you did this. We are all here for you.
The only time I vomited was when I ate a sugar-free pudding cup. Apparently Xylitol is poison to me now. The experience was much less intense than vomiting pre-surgery.
Every time I vomited it was my fault... didn't chew, swallowed too fast, had to make myself vomit after getting something stuck, etc.
I am not making any promises, but vomiting is not inevitable.

I was just explaining this to my husband last night - I maybe vomited a handful of times in my life prior to WLS, now it's about once a week as I'm adding new foods, but without the acid, it's unpleasant but not nearly as bad.
