Is it inevitable that I will vomit after having RNY

Hi all,
I am new to the forum. I have just started my RNY journey meaning I have done all pre op labs and tests, and I am waiting on a date for my surgery. I'm having mixed emotions right now. On the one hand, I am SO excited to start the journey and change my life for the better. On the other hand, I am terrified of some of the life changes. The one that I am fixated on right now is the frequency with which I might vomit.
Can anyone tell me if vomiting is inevitable after surgery? Has anyone NEVER vomited after having the surgery? I'm not sure that I can cope with the vomiting. Any advice is much appreciated. TIA.
My surgery was 3/21/16 and I have never vomited. In the hospital they gave me a patch to wear behind my ear along with IV anti-nausea meds. The patch stayed on for several day after the surgery. The anesthesiologist is the one who gave it to me so I would ask about it at the hospital when you meet before surgery. Sometimes I burp a lot, but nothing has ever come back up on me. Good luck and don't worry! You will be so happy in the end!

I'm 13 months out and have vomited once, and had neaseau once-- that's it.
prior to surgery I had what I called a stomach of steel- nothing ever upset it and throwing up could only mean I was pregnant. I was expecting it to be totally different after surgery. It's not-- I've learned the foods that tends to upset me and avoid them. my stomach(pouch) still handles every thing like a champ.

Welcome! Vomiting was a huge concern of mine as well. Since my surgery(it will be 2 years in August) and have vomited twice (not even sure the first one counts since it was due to dizziness) and the other time it was more of a dry heave. As I'm sure you'll read everyone has a different experience but I wanted to at least share mine.
I am almost 8 years out and have never vomited since surgery.
Some people vomit because they try to eat too much.
