What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Oh hello, weekend...where the hell have you been hiding all week?!
Most of you know this has been a very long week for me complete with sadness, illness, and loneliness. I looked the the FitBit sleep tracker this morning and it was confirmed. Oh man...
*this sleep amount wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't sick. I just need so much more to recover!
But on to a better week, starting...NOW!
Today is my best friend's birthday-woot woot! We originally had plans to go up to Salem, MA which is on the coast and walk around, then and go to a museum before going to dinner, but plans changed (long story).
Instead we are going to a Historical Society's rummage sale (?) then chillin' out by my pool for a few hours before dinner :) I could not be happier with the change of plans! I really need a day to relax. I'm hoping for about 6 solid hours of crossword puzzles, iced coffee, napping in the sun, and some swimming. Ahhh, summer!
QOTD: Ok in honor of my friend's bday...Who is your best friend, and why? Jodi and I have been BFFs for 23 years. We met when we both first moved to Boston and didn't know too many other people. We immediately bonded over books, travel, art, and fashion. We've been on a ton of adventures together and I don't think there is anyone in the world who "gets me" more than she does. We've both changed a lot in 23 years--I'm pretty sure there is no way that if we met for the first time, today we'd like each other at all. Haha. But I wouldn't trade her for anyone :)
B: Iced coffee with skim (oh there are going to be a lot of these today) & bacon!
S: turkey and goat cheese with cranberries (thanks Daze!)
L: meatball with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese
S: Fit Frappe Protein Iced Chai Latte
D: Swordfish & Broccoli Rabe

Good Morning JB and everyone!
Happy Memorial Weekend!
QOTD: Besides my daughter, who is my very best friend, and my two doggie best friends, my BFF is Barb. We have been friends for 26 years! We bonded over our love of pets, garage sales, spiritual pursuits and other things. She and I are different in many ways but we complement each other. She has a great sense of humor and makes me laugh!
Yesterday I stuck to the CAMAW Critter diet: Protein drink, cottage cheese, steak & string cheese sticks. Looks like I lost 4 pounds this week!
Exercise: Will take our dogs for a walk today.
Have a super day, everybody!

Sorry for the rough week...I've been going to bed like midnight, the wedding weekend threw off my sleep and waking up at 5am. This morning I was like 'hell no' and after about an hour went back to bed for a'nap'...LOL....
The wedding weekend shenanigans also threw off the scale. I had reached a new low last week...the gained 3 lbs over the weekend. While I am still in a good place, I am jumping around the three pounds and it hasn't come off. I was not 100% Camaw compliant either :(
QOTD: I have several really close friends. Karen and Elizabeth are my neighbors for the past 32 years. We raised our kids together, and now go to church together...We all moved into the neighborhood within 18 months of each other. My other good friend Christine, I met through Homeschooling, we have run many escapades together... We ran a Homeschool support group for years, Are both painters and teach painting, and I help her every summer run the crafts for her church's VBS.
Off to Support group at Panera... this is one of my favorites...
B: Coffee latte laced with Miralax...LOL, Premeir Protein
L: If home, salami and provolone roll ups
D: Meatballs and mozzarella
Snacks- greek yogurt, strawberries and we will see...

It always feels to me that homeschoolers are so isolated, at least in my part of the world, that I'm always happy to meet another hs mom. I homeschooled my own kids for 7 years, then shipped them off to school and got a job teaching for financial reasons. Now I've been teaching for 8 years and my youngest, in 8th grade, is back to homeschooling. She has juvenile arthritis (since she was 6) and cannot handle a long day at school. I miss the homeschooling lifestyle, but I also like getting dressed up and hanging with the adults during the day.

BE NOT AFRAID JPII
I consider having been able to teach my son a gift and a privilege. He did start elementary school, but I took him out and graduated him from high school. I live in suburbia, so no isolation.
He's 28 now, married and I have 2 grandchildren :)
