What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Happy birthday, AV!!! Sounds like a wonderful week for you - My Mom always called me the "queen of milking" cuz I could milk out my birthday for weeks. LOL
No tattoos. But as a co-inkiedink, yesterday I was rockin' almost the exact outfit as you: White skinny capris (the black ones I bought are a size 6, but I had to send back the white ones for a size 4 - isn't it weird that the same exact pair of pants fit differently in different colors?)... and a royal blue top. So, yeah... 46 looks good on you!
Well, Day 4 of CAMAW-critter (doing great, feeling full on less food and have lost 3 pounds):
15+ months since RNY
2 oz pork loin
2 oz deli ham
2 oz eye of round rst beef slices w/slice of 2% American Cheese
1 turkey frank with a dab of mustard
HB egg
L&F Yogurt (maybe)
And I bought some turkey kielbasa - if there's room I'll have 2 ounces
TOTALS: cals-820, carbs-29, protein-94, fat-33
HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!
Happy birthday AV! I have one tattoo, I got it around my 30th birthday because I lost 30 pounds. You know, that 30 pounds we've all lost a dozen times lol. It's a Celtic cross because we are Irish several generations back. On my right shoulder.
My current situation is sitting in the airport for my flight to Atlanta, then Haiti. The funeral is tomorrow and I will be back home late Sat night.
B- ham and cheese roll up
L- not sure whatever I can find that's protein forward in the airport
D- same as lunch
have a great weekend everyone! I will probably be MIA from here until Monday

Happy Birthday, AV! I've got the big 48 coming up in a month. I've got to say the 40s are much better than I imagined when I was in my 20s, lol.
Qotd: I have a small cross tattoo on the inside of my right ankle. People rarely see it, but sometimes when I cross my legs at church, I see the little old ladies do a doubletake. I'm like, it's a cross, right? The really funny thing is I got the tattoo when I turned 27. My mom told me I would never find a husband since I had gotten a tattoo. I met my dh a month later. He thought it was sexy, lol.
I have a question for you all. I've started pureed foods (yay!). This morning I mixed up 1/4 cup of ricotta cheese with a scoop of chocolate protein powder. (Chocolate cheesecake?) It was yum, but the two together were more than 1/4 cup so I couldn't fini**** Should I fini**** as a snack? And if so, do I need to wait an hour after to drink each time?
Food:

L Chicken salad with mayo

Love your cross on the ankle story! By the way I think you are doing so well Ereiam! And agree my 40's is way better than I imagined!
The ricotta cheese & chocolate protein powder sounds yummy, great job! For sure if you want to save it for later that is fine, or do you think it will keep until tomorrow? That's an option as well. You know every center is different and they all have "guidelines" that they ask us to follow. Although I totally agree on following your surgeon's plan and following the "rules" (vitamins, protein forward, no drinking for minimum of 30 minutes after a meal) you also have to listen to your body/pouch and do what feels right. Glad you didn't force yourself to eat it all just because it was there and you made it, that is great habits to get into early on.
As for the waiting to drink after you eat, yes each an ever time you eat you wait to drink. Most centres say wait 30 minutes, I can tell you that sometimes when I have very dense protein like chicken breast or steak I wait an hour or 90 minutes after eating because the dense protein fills me up so much, but at minimum wait 30 minutes. I do remember when I was early post op I waited 45 - 60 minutes because I was just so nervous of screwing up and wanted to make sure I did it right. Thank god for my iPhone, the alarm/timer on my phone gets so much use, early on I just set it for 45 minutes after eating and then it would go off and I could drink. Now I use it all the time for my calcium chews to space them out every 2.5 hours.
Good luck, you got this!
