What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
So sorry to hear about your son's struggle. It is so hard when the kids have things come up that are serious. I would be worried and freaked out too. You are doing great. Momming is tough stuff. ~E

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
I wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts, and to let you know my Mom passed yesterday. She would have been 81 this summer.
She seemed to be very healthy, and traveled from MA to San Diego a few weeks ago to visit my sister. She ended up going into cardiac arrest, and having open heart surgery. But there was already major damage because of clogged arteries. She needed a second surgery for ischemic bowel, and developed kidney and liver damage. Pretty much everything.
I had flown out to San Diego to be with her and my sister, and will be here a little longer until I can arrange to bring mom back home. I'm actually going to try and meet up with Emiepie and others in Costa Mesa tonight, if LA traffic doesn't screw me completely. I hope some of you from SoCal will be there.
My menu has been off the rails. I've been eating a mostly plant based diet. Cocoa beans, sugar cane, nuts, wheat. You know, candy bars and donuts. But plant based diet sounds better.
I really want to thank JB for all her support. She's the best girlfriend in the world. This would be so much harder without her. Being on the other side of the country isn't easy though. She's a fantastic hugger. If any of you has the opportunity to hug her, you should jump at the chance.
Thanks again for all the good thoughts. It really is very much appreciated. I miss you guys.

Dear Grim - so sorry about your Mom - it is never easy. Please take care of yourself and I am so happy that you have someone who seems as wonderful as JB. Best wishes for your return trip.
