What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Sorry about the speech delay, my 2 1/2 year old has been in speech therapy for almost a year now, and when he turns 3 its the school systems "job" to do it, they will do their own evaluation in July to see if he still qualifies. I KNOW he still needs it, I am just worried the school wont think so.
The closest Trader Joe's is like well over an hour away from me, and I will go these and STOCK UP on the frozen riced cauliflower!! lol
My suggestion to you would be to make the appointment at his worst time of day and feed him McDonald's right beforehand. Seriously, it helps with the process.
People take their kids to this stuff at their best time of day and we all know their best time is like an hour a day.
Just wanted to reassure you about your son. My oldest who is extremely intelligent and a card carrying MENSA member had a severe speech impediment when he was small. The school tested him and started him in speech before he was three. The one on one work was a big help for him and they gave me exercises to help him too. He talked very little because he couldn't be understood but after a few years he was fine. And best of all he went on to be a great public speaker and did drama and theatre even in college. I know it's a stress but at least now both of you will get the help you need so he can do amazing things! Hang in there!
