What's your favorite protein powder?

Protein shakes, for me, are just liquid calories that slide on through. I stopped them as soon as I could.

I prefer to eat food. I stay satisfied longer and am less inclined to snack.

Rocky and Audrey gave you solid suggestions. I find it fairly easy to portion up food at night while I am either cooking dinner or cleaning up. It's pretty convenient, and it eliminates standing in front of the fridge while carbs sing their siren song.

If you are stumped for food ideas or sick of the same 'ol, same 'ol, Eggface has some good recipes.

Your lofty, precious attitude is preventing you from heeding any sensible advice. I am quite sure I am whistling in the wind, but I'll try one more time.

  1. In answer to your not-so-subtle jibe, yes indeed I have children. Mine are not so small, but I haven't forgotten the whirling dervishes that littles can be. I managed, as did every other woman I know. You have to not only have a shake, but it has to be accessible with only one hand? Bollocks.
  2. You keep throwing up excuses about it not being easy. YOU are making it harder than it has to be. If you want to solely drink protein shakes, bottoms up. They will not help you lose weight, which you said is your aim. Food will serve you better because it will not slide right through, leaving you hungry.
  3. We can recommend protein drink flavors until we are blue in the face. It doesn't matter, as Rocky said, because what I like (nary a one) won't necessarily be what you like, so it's like asking us to recommend a favorite color.
  4. You are asking for suggestions on a public forum. That means you will get them. Don't like it? Don't take it.

Sprouts has their own protein powder that I like a lot. Mixes easily and no too sweet.  Also I just tried Fit Frappe Espresso with cold milk and it was delish.

Keep in mind that since you're nursing, your caloric needs are greater, as well as your need for protein, fat and fluids. Protein drinks could bridge the gap for you.

Thank you for the recommendation! Yes, my doctor recommends 750 extra calories because I'm nursing a baby and a toddler. My goal is 12 cups of water a day, but it's hard to do.

If you are nursing both kids you may want to wait awhile to attempt further weight loss.  They'll be over the nursing soon enough and you have the rest of your life to lose the weight.  Nursing two kiddos has got to put some serious stress on your body.  Maybe it would be ok to let up a little, let yourself be happy with just maintaining for now, and not worry too much about the scale?  Just getting in all of your liquids must be a chore some days.

Just a thought.
