Skin Removal
How very exciting !! I wish I had Kaiser lol. I had a lap band and lost over 100 lbs . Had a tummy tuck ( self pay) but it was the best decision I ever made ! I made such a difference in every little way, I rolled over on my side and no skin rolled over too lol my tummy was flat and it felt great! My plastic surgeon suggests that you remain a stable weight for at least 1 year but I'd say go for it !

Yeah, I got the same letter from Kaiser. There are a few restrictions to qualify, but it's very good news! I've decided against skin removal at this point - even though I look like a 90-year old lady under my clothes, the skin isn't a nuisance, nor does it hang below my genital area (one of the qualifications from the letter). But mainly, I can't get the kind of time I'd need off work for the recovery.
But overall, I'm excited for many of my Kaiser classmates and bariatric support group friends that this opportunity is now available.
That is wonderful, but I would check any fine print. I would go for a consult when you get to goal wt. It still takes some time to decide, get the cash and schedule the surgery. Waiting a year might make sense, but docs are not insisting on it. I will be 18 months out and at goal for 7 months ( or more) prior to surgery.

It is not an easy answer, everyone is different. "Stomach done' can mean many things... just Panni removal, muscle tightening, or total lower body lift. LBL I would say minimum 2 weeks. Someone on here, who could work from home started working at 5 days...but she didn't have to go out. I was still on too many painkillers at 5 days...it wouldn't have happened. You will also have drains... you won't know exactly how long they are in. My Doc only used 2, and always takes them out by 3 weeks. But that is not true of most other surgeons... they use more and if needed keep them in longer. Mine came out on days 10 and 16....
Didn't have thighs done... search the Plastic Surgery forum and see if you can find some answers....
