Crazy subject...Worms in your pouch??
So my wife and I were picking cherries from our cherry tree this afternoon. Later she noticed many of the cherries had very very small worms in them. I'm sure I must have eaten a few with the cherries. People with regular stomachs will use their stomach acid to kill most of these things.
Just wondering if this is something to worry about?? What can I eat (and not kill me) that could kill those tiny worms that are now in my system? Brian
First, I still think you would digest those worms. Like you chewed those cherries right?
But if you are worried, primitive people used to use spices like onion, garlic and hot foods (like chili peppers, jalepeno's tumeric and cayenne) to burn/irritate those critters out of their digestive system.
Good luck.

With RNY your remnant stomach is still connected to your intestines further down. The acid is still being produced by the remnant stomach and empties into your intestines just as it always did. The majority of stomach acid is produced in the lower part of the stomach (where the remnant now is) but a small amount of acid is still produced by the new pouch. While they may not be in contact with a lot of acid in your pouch, there is enough acid in your system to kill the little buggers.
I'm not normally squeamish, but ewww... I'd call the doctor, just in case and keep a few wormy cherries, just in case.
