Lunchmeat ?

That's kinda why I'm cutting back on the ham.  Even though I buy an actual ham and not the chopped, pressed, with additives and reconfigured into a tube kind of ham.  But, maybe even real ham is too much.

However, I'm liking the Costco turkey breast.  It's not organic, but it's an actual turkey breast and I slice it thin myself.  I miss the days when you could roast your own meat at home, wrap it up, take it to the store deli, and they would run it thru their slicer for free.  (OK, that was probably 30 years ago!)  Hmmm... that just gave me an idea.  I wonder if I could talk the Costco meat cutters to open the package and run the turkey breast thru the slicer for me.   I might try asking.  I mean it's their meat, it hasn't left the store or anything.

Costco oven roasted turkey breast is The Bomb. The real thing right? I was thinking I'd seen someone say they had gotten deli to slice it. It is good stuff regardless. I have sliced it thick and frozen in snack size bag for 3oz. Take out in morning to go to work.  Perfect by lunch.  Also do cubes to put in salad. I also buy their sliced Canadian bacon (shout out to daisydoo!) and portion out in snack bags.

I only eat lunch meats that are nitrate free.  They can sometimes be hard to find in regular grocery stores, but Whole Foods is a good source.  None of their meats have nitrates.  Trader Joe's also has a a nitrate free ham, roast beef and bacon.  Look for "uncured" on the package.

Boars Head of course is tops... but if you want more natural, Go Applegate Farms. You can buy at Trader Joe's and some at Target. Lunchmeat/cold cuts do not agree for the most part with my pouch almost 2 years out....still... so that is why I like the Trader Joes Thick Cut Turket Breast. Very Moist, and it agrees with me.
