IN A HOLDING PATTERN WAITING ON SURGERY DATE

I currently have a "Molina" band that is causing me problems so it looks like the RNY is my best option.  My surgeon is working on the insurance approval so I'm in a holding pattern until the date is set.  I've been lurking around the forum trying to read up and take in as much information as possible.  I'm a little nervous but am just ready to start feeling better.  Any information or tips would be greatly appreciated !!

Welcome! Read the daily  menu thread...it's helpful. I followed on here from November until May 2 when I had RNY. I feel like it's really help prepare me! Good luck!

Welcome!! I'm pretty new too. I just had my RNY on Monday. Home from the hospital on Wednesday, and now just trying to drink enough liquids to hit my goal.

I've learned so much from being on these boards and reading.

Get your mind made up now that you're done cheating... get your mind ready to make changes. It's so easy to do here, reading everything people have to say.

So many people think this is a magic 'snip' and now they are skinny for life. And you'll see from reading around here that is simply not true. A lot of folks have regain issues. So I think it's best to deal with your demons as best as you can prior to surgery. Some go to counseling, others go to support groups, and I'm sure there are other ways to learn about them.

Hope you're not stuck in the holding pattern for too long!
